"The fog locks the fog at the top of the mountain, and the water at the end of the sky connects to the sky" is from a pair of couplets in Gulangyu Island, Xiamen, Fujian Province. This pair of couplets, also known as the "reverse couplet" and the "roll-up couplet", is a clever and unique combination that makes for an interesting read.
The meaning of the couplet is that the fog is so thick that you can't see the mountains in the distance; the water and the sky are one color, and the sky and the water are connected. Xiamen Gulangyu Island, the fish pro-po because of its location in the sea, the island of mountains and peaks, smoke, the sea, water, water, far away from the clouds and the sky.

Toward the end of the Ming Dynasty, the famous prostitute Liu Ruyue supported the struggle against the Qing Dynasty. After the fall of Ming, she hanged herself for this reason. Someone wrote a couplet praising her:
Liu Ru Shi among the people,
is like a man among the willows.
Given Liu Ruyi's noble morals, the couplet reads, "Liu Ruyi is a man among men".
There was a famous restaurant in Beijing in the Qing Dynasty called "Natural Residence". Emperor Qianlong once in the building to enjoy delicious food, slightly drunk, feel like a guest in the sky. So, he wrote this couplet:
The guest on the natural residence,
Really the guest in the sky.
This couplet is wonderful in the smooth reading is a layer of meaning, read backwards is another layer of meaning, and the two layers of meaning are interrelated, natural.
