There are many prescriptions for regulating qi in ancient times, and modern doctors often regard Sini powder and Shengjiang powder as important prescriptions for regulating qi in clinic, which are mostly used in various clinical diseases.

1 Sinisan
"Sinisan" comes from Zhongjing's Treatise on Febrile Diseases: "Shaoyin disease, four adverse reactions, one's cough, or palpitation, or urination is unfavorable, or abdominal pain, or diarrhea is heavy, and Sinisan is the main one."
Although this article comes from shaoyin disease, it has been controversial by doctors since ancient times. Some doctors believe that the pathogenesis of Sinisan syndrome is stagnation of triple energizer qi.
"Su Wen" says: "The three Yin's clutch is also the opening of Taiyin, the closing of Jueyin and the pivot of Shaoyin". Here, "pivot" has two meanings: one is the center and the key, that is, Shaoyin is the center and key of Taiyin and Jueyin, which can be understood as the most important of the three Yin; Another explanation holds that this "pivot" has the meaning of running and pivoting, and it is described by opening, closing and pivoting, which is a description of the function of Shaoyin Cardinal.
Sinisan syndrome is located in Shaoyin Meridian, and its pathogenesis is that exogenous pathogens spread into meridian, Yang qi stagnates, and Yin and Yang qi and blood are out of balance, which does not reach the extremities. It can be seen that the main symptoms of Shaoyin disease are limb syncope, stagnation of liver qi, stagnation of spleen, abdominal pain and discomfort, or abdominal pain and pulse string. Zhang Zhicong said that "the hinge can't be opened and closed", so the syndromes of liver and spleen are more common. If the cardinal is unfavorable, you will see the syndrome of disharmony between the liver and spleen, which can explain many variations of Sinisan.
Later, Sini San evolved into many variants, such as Xiaoyao San, which are both diseases of liver and spleen, but the syndrome is caused by stagnation of liver qi, weakness of spleen and blood, and loss of spleen health, which is different from Sini San, and it is a syndrome of deficiency and excess.
Another example is Chaihu Shugan Powder, which is a qi-regulating agent. Its qi movement is caused by stagnation of liver qi and unfavorable menstruation. It is important to enhance its function of promoting qi circulation and relieving pain by adding and subtracting Sini Powder.
The normal operation of qi and blood is the premise of the normal transmission of yang. When the qi and blood are sufficient, the yang will reach, and the fire in the liver and gallbladder will rise, which can smooth the whole body qi and promote the operation of blood.
2 shengjiangsan
Shengjiang Powder was first seen in Gong Tingxian's "The Gate of Pestilence" in the Ming Dynasty, and it was recorded as a fairy prescription of Neifu. Later in the Ming Dynasty, Zhang Heteng included it in "The Book of Injury to Summer" and accepted it as a prescription for treating summer heat. Later in the Qing Dynasty, Liang-Tso Chen, a physician, changed its name to "Accompanying Relief Powder". Yang Lishan, a doctor, later included Shengjiangsan in his book "Treatise on Typhoid and Plague".
Shengjiang Powder is different from Neifu Xianfang in terms of dosage and usage, except that one is mixed with yellow wine and the other is made with ginger paste pills. The composition and efficacy of other medicines are exactly the same, which proves that Yang Lishan's so-called "ancient prescription" is the "Neifu Xianfang" in Gong Tingxian's Rejuvenation of All Diseases.
Yang Lishan said, "Big-headed plague, the miscellaneous gas of heaven's faults and boils, is felt by people, and it is also called big-headed plague when it is used to suppress the scorching and clear the way." ..... In ancient times, the white muscardine silkworm was fried with 22 ounces of wine, and the whole cicada sloughed 22 ounces, and the turmeric was peeled from San Qian, and the yellow wine from Sichuan University gave birth to 42 ounces. At the end, a cup of cold yellow wine and a honey of 12 ounces were mixed with San Qian, and ...... it was able to vomit, or sweat after the meal, which meant that it was clear and turbid, and it was scattered because of the name. Yang Lishan mainly applies this prescription to febrile diseases. He thinks that the disease is caused by miscellaneous qi, and divides the pathogenic factors of febrile diseases into clear and turbid qi according to their nature. Clearing pathogenic factors hurts the upper energizer and turbid pathogenic factors hurt the lower energizer.
Some people think that stagnation of heat is the same essence of various febrile diseases and various stages of transmission, so Shengjiangsan is the general recipe for treating febrile diseases. This is another expansion of the application of this recipe, in which the stiff silkworm and cicada are thoroughly heated; Ginger helps to promote qi and blood and smooth liver and gallbladder qi-flowing, so as to facilitate the exogenous pathogenic heat; Rhubarb purges, causing heat to descend. Bombyx batryticatus, cicada slough, turmeric and rhubarb have different properties and tastes, but all of them focus on solving the main contradiction of stagnation of heat. "
3 Similarities and differences between Sini Powder and Shengjiang Powder
The pathogenesis of Sini San and Shengjiang San both have the syndrome of depression. The depression of Sini San is yang depression, and the depression of ascending and descending is heat depression. Their pathogenesis attributes are the same, but their pathogenicity and manifestations are different.
Both prescriptions are composed of drugs for clearing away heat and reducing turbidity, and Sini Powder is composed of Bupleurum chinense and Fructus Aurantii Immaturus. Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata is beneficial to spleen and middle energizer, while Radix Paeoniae Alba is urgent to stop middle energizer. Four drugs can penetrate evil and relieve depression, soothe the liver and regulate the spleen, so that qi can flow smoothly and yang can be cleared up.
Shengjiang powder is composed of stiff silkworm and cicada slough, while rhubarb and turmeric are used to reduce turbidity. From the perspective of its medicinal composition, its medicinal properties are cold. The scope of clinical application is constantly expanding, and the scope of application is getting wider and wider.
Sini powder mainly regulates and transports. Bupleurum is the monarch drug in Sini powder, which enters the liver meridian of foot Jueyin and gallbladder meridian of foot Shaoyang, soothes the liver and relieves depression, and penetrates evil to reach the outside; Supplemented with Radix Paeoniae Alba as the minister medicine, it enters the liver meridian of foot Jue Yin, has sexual convergence, nourishes the blood and softens the liver, and is combined with Radix Bupleuri, so as to avoid "Radix Bupleuri robbing the liver yin", so that Radix Bupleuri can soothe the liver and promote yang without excessive pungent dispersion, and the nourishing of liver blood will not hinder the qi movement; Assisted with Fructus Aurantii Immaturus to lower qi and eliminate stagnation, it rises and falls with the monarch drug Bupleurum, so that the clear yang rises, the turbid yin falls, the airway is smooth and the qi is comfortable; Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch is used to regulate the qi of the heart and spleen, so that the liver and spleen can be reconciled, and it is compatible with Radix Paeoniae Alba to form Shaoyao Glycyrrhiza Decoction, which can relieve pain and treat abdominal pain in Sini Powder. From its composition, Sinisan mainly focuses on regulating and transporting, and later generations of doctors have formed Xiaoyao San and Chaihu Shugan San according to their prescriptions. The application of Sinisan has also been expanding from the treatment of yang depression of shaoyin, and later generations of doctors have applied Sinisan to the treatment of hiccups, gallstones, constipation, diarrhea, stranguria and other diseases. Its wide application scope shows that Sinisan is accurate in compatibility and simple in medication.
The flow of qi depends on the regulation of the liver. If the liver loses the function of dispersing qi, the qi is abnormal, and the six fu-organs lose the function of dredging and descending, the disease will be born. Guo Lao proposed that the six-fu diseases should be guided by regulating the liver, and that as long as the disease and syndrome are combined and the syndrome differentiation is accurate, all the six-fu diseases related to liver failure and diarrhea can be treated with Sini Powder.
Shengjiang powder is mainly used to promote transparency and dredge stagnation.
Yang Lishan explained Shengjiang San in Treatise on Typhoid and Plague: "Take stiff silkworm and cicada slough, and clear Yang in rising Yang; Turmeric and rhubarb, the turbid yin in the yin, rises and falls, and the inside and outside are in harmony, while the perniciousness of miscellaneous gas disappears! " Shengjiangsan takes stiff silkworm and cicada slough as the monarch and minister, acting on the exterior, so that evil can penetrate from the exterior and evil heat can be relieved from the exterior, thus achieving the purpose of treating diseases. Bombyx Batryticatus tastes hard and thin, likes dryness and hates dampness, gains the qi of heaven and earth, and is frivolous, so it can dispel wind, remove dampness, clear heat and relieve depression; The stiff silkworm is stiff and does not rot, and it is old and golden, while the warm disease is hot and dry, and it is self-satisfied with the golden qi of the autumnal equinox, so it can eliminate all the evil spirits; Curcuma longa and rhubarb are used as assistants in the prescription. The compatibility of the two drugs not only reflects the ascending and descending compatibility, but also reflects the dispersing of depression and blood stasis. In the prescription, the drug properties are always cold and cool, and the main thing is to remove the stagnation of heat. However, the stagnation of heat and evil will inevitably form substantial pathological products. At this time, the compatibility of Curcuma longa and rhubarb is needed to achieve the effects of dispersing depression, dispersing blood stasis and promoting innovation. The essence of the compatibility of this prescription is also reflected in giving different types of outlets to evil spirits, the evil spirits with light texture, and the evil heat spreading from the upper jiao; Invisible excess heat, gas stagnation, gas stagnation or tangible pathological products of middle and lower jiao can be dissipated through the lower orifices.

The trend of attack and tonic is different: the whole prescription of Shengjiang powder is mainly to eliminate evil, and there is no medicine that takes care of both tonic and tonic, while Sini powder has both tonic and attack and tonic. Sinisan is located in the liver and spleen, and it can regulate the whole body qi to treat the disease by regulating the qi of the liver and spleen. The zang-fu organs and meridians are distributed between the upper and lower parts of the human body, and qi, blood, body fluids run through the meridians throughout the body, thus playing a corresponding role, so that the Qi can move up and down normally. "Su Wen Ju Pain Lun pian" said: "All diseases are born of qi". When the body has abnormal qi movement, it will lead to human diseases. Poor qi movement can lead to tangible or intangible qi stagnation, and it can also lead to tangible or intangible heat stagnation and blood stasis. Poor qi movement leads to many diseases in clinic.
