Upendant berry, also known as: Ampelopsis, five-leafed vine, five-clawed dragon, sow vine. Latin scientific name: Cayratia japonica. grape family, Ampelopsis genus plants. Born in valley forests or thickets on mountain slopes, 300-2500 m above sea level. Fl. 3-Aug, fr. 8-Nov. Distributed throughout the south of China. It has the functions of clearing heat and detoxification, activating blood circulation and dissipating blood stasis, and diuretic, and can cure sore throat, boils, carbuncles, boils, dysentery, blood in urine, leucorrhoea, bruises, and venomous snake bites.
