Skills of growing kale at home
Due to the limitation of family flower cultivation conditions, it is impossible to raise a lot of each kind of flowers. The best ornamental effect is to buy kale seeds, but most flower dealers have a minimum package of more than 100 seeds, and ten or eight seeds cannot be purchased. Many lovers have to buy potted kale directly from the flower market to enjoy it. Although this can save a lot of trouble, it is a pity that many flower growers can't try to cultivate the fun of finished kale from sowing, seedling raising to pot maintenance. Let's talk about raising kale at home.
Choose and buy several pots of high-quality kale potted flowers in the flower market. When the kale blooms in March and April, don't pull it out and throw it away, but continue to water and fertilize it. After the flowers fade, the old stems will sprout a lot of tillers. At this time, the old stems without tillers will be cut off and watered normally until autumn. In early August, these tillers were cut off for cutting. The method is to fill the clean flowerpot with clean river sand or perlite according to the number of cuttings you need, then pour it with boiling water for disinfection, and let it cool for later planting.
Keep 3 to 4 leaves for each cut tiller bud. The cutting density is based on the fact that the leaves do not overlap each other. After cutting, spray water once, and put the flowerpot in the shade, or in a place where the sun can be seen in the morning but not at noon. According to the weather conditions, the number of times of watering every day should be flexibly mastered, and the number of watering times should be controlled on the premise of ensuring that the cuttings do not wilt excessively. Cutting of kale is easy to take root. It takes one week to take root, and it can be transplanted into a pot in two weeks. In this way, flower growers can plant several pots according to their own needs.
The old stems of kale reserved for cutting should be observed when cutting is finished. According to the appearance of the old stems, 3 to 5 buds should be left in different parts, and multi-headed potted kale flowers can be cultivated after continuous management. If you are a bonsai lover, you can also make a kale bonsai with this old stump. Although the kale bonsai made is not as elegant and long-lasting as the stump bonsai, it is also interesting.
If the tiller buds are cut for cutting in mid-June and planted in pots after rooting, the cut kale with a stem length of 50 cm can be grown by this method. You can also cut without cutting buds, so that the tillers on the old stems can grow freely. In this way, although the obtained cut stems are not long, generally only 20 cm to 30 cm, which are not too strong and vary in size, the cut kale with various specifications can give you more choices when making flower arrangement works. In addition, kale can easily take root when it is placed in a bottle. If it is placed in a bright room, it can be placed for two or three months.
