Guangdong Institute of Petrochemical Technology is a public undergraduate university jointly established by Guangdong Provincial People's Government, China Petrochemical Group, China Petroleum and Natural Gas Group and China Offshore Oil Group Co., Ltd., the only petrochemical university with characteristics in South China, a pilot university of the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program" of the Ministry of Education, and a high-level science and engineering university in Guangdong Province, and a master's degree awarding unit.
The school is located in Maoming, the largest petrochemical production base and fruit production base in the south of China, a beautiful coastal city in Guangdong Province, covering an area of 1 359,600 square meters (about 2,040 mu) and divided into three campuses: Guandu, Xicheng and Guanghua.
