2. Central China type: distributed in the vast area south of the Yangtze River and north of the Tropic of Cancer. The biggest feature of this pig is its wide waist, barrel shape and tender meat. Representative pig breeds are Jinhua Liangtouwu, Ningxiang Flower Pig and Large White Pig.
3. South China type: distributed in Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan and other southern regions of China. The biggest feature of this kind of pig is plump legs and hips, thick back and waist, tender meat and more belly fat. Representative pig breeds include small ear pig, small flower pig, Huai pig, Bama Xiang pig, Luchuan pig and Hainan five-legged pig.
4. River-sea type: distributed in Hanshui, the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and the southeast coast. The biggest feature of this pig is that its back is slightly wider, its skin is thick and soft, and its bones are strong. Representative pig breeds are Taihu pig, Hongqiao pig, Taoyuan pig and Qingping pig.
5. Plateau type: distributed in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Its main feature is wild boar, which has a high lean meat rate, accounting for about 50%~55%. The most representative is Linzhi Tibetan fragrant pig.
6. Southwest type: distributed in most areas of southwest provinces and western Hunan and Hubei, such as Neijiang pig, Rongchang pig and Wujin pig.
