Aloe vera is a perennial succulent herb of Liliaceae. According to reports, aloe juice is rich in more than 72 kinds of effective ingredients such as aloe emodin, aloenin, aloin, organic acid, protein, polypeptide, amino acid and carotene, and has the functions of medicine, health care, beauty, hairdressing, eating and viewing. But there are many kinds of aloe, about 300 kinds. There are many varieties in China, but Aloe barbadensis in the United States and Aloe arborescens in Japan are the best. According to relevant data, other varieties have no planting value at present. Last year, our province introduced American aloe from Kunshan, Jiangsu Province for trial planting. The varieties and cultivation are briefly introduced as follows.
1. Plant characteristics: the stem is short and upright, the leaves are long on the stem, and the lanceolate leaves are arranged in a spiral shape. The leaves are about 50cm long, about 15cm wide and about 3cm thick. The leaves are toothed, the flowers are solitary, branched, and the flowers are red and yellow. The leaves of the plant are short white stripes and waxy powder. 2, soil requirements: strong adaptability, pot culture and field cultivation, strong growth potential, high growth potential suitable for field cultivation. It was observed that low temperature, slow growth, high temperature and accelerated growth. In winter, people are afraid of cold, but they can spend the winter indoors. Therefore, we should spend the winter in the greenhouse in winter, but basically stop growing. 3. Water demand: Aloe planting is mainly drought, with low terrain and poor growth. Pay attention to drainage when planting in the field, and do not water the soil planted in the shed. It is advisable to plant plants every 7- 10 days in winter, and the field is basically not watered. Water according to the growth in summer. 4. Fertilizer demand: Aloe needs a small amount of fertilizer. Under normal circumstances, sufficient base fertilizer can be applied, and 25 kilograms of compound fertilizer can be applied per mu. Topdressing is appropriate according to the growth situation. 5, lighting requirements: as much light as possible in winter, shading in summer, uncovered in time in the morning and evening, high temperature and strong light is not good for aloe growth, leaves will turn yellow, affecting goods.
6. Reproduction: The main way of reproduction is asexual reproduction, but Aloe vera has few tillers, so its development is slow. When the plant has tillers above 15cm, it can be planted alone. To survive, we must keep as many roots as possible. It usually turns to normal growth in a week. If the main stem breaks, it will promote the germination of small buds. 7. Disease: There is basically no disease in the planting process, but under the condition of high humidity, the leaves appear small concave black spots, and the humidity should be appropriately reduced when planting in greenhouse. Pesticides such as chlorothalonil can be used for timely prevention and control, and at the same time, agricultural prevention and control work should be done well, ventilation should be strengthened, and groundwater level should be reduced. Aloe vera is easy to cultivate. Although it can be used as medicine and food, the sales volume is not large at present.
