2. Bupleurum, Chinese medicine name. It is a herb included in China Pharmacopoeia, and its medicinal part is the dried root of Umbelliferae plant Bupleurum chinense or Bupleurum stenophyllum. Excavate in spring and autumn, remove stems, leaves and sediment, and dry. Bupleurum chinense is a commonly used medicine for relieving exterior syndrome. Also known as Dixun, Shancai, Mushroom Grass and firewood, it is bitter in nature and slightly cold, and enters the liver and gallbladder meridians. It has the effects of harmonizing exterior and interior, soothing the liver and promoting yang. Can be used for treating common cold and fever, malaria, liver stagnation and qi stagnation, chest pain, proctoptosis, uterine prolapse, and irregular menstruation.
