Development history:

Guangdong People's Broadcasting Station was established in 1949;

Guangdong Television Station was established in 1959;

Southern Guangdong Television Station was established in 2001;

Southern Broadcasting Film and Television Media Group (hereinafter referred to as "Southern Media Group") was established in 2004;

On April 23, 2014, Guangdong Radio and Television (廣東广播電視), which was formed by the integration of the former Southern Radio and Television Media Group (南方广播影视传媒集团), Guangdong People's Radio (廣東人民广播电台), Guangdong Television (廣東電視), and Southern Television (南方電視), was formally listed.
