Honey storage methods
1. Sealed storage
Generally, the honey eaten at home is filled, pour out a little when you eat it, and then cover it with a lid. For storage, this kind of cover does not have any effective sealing measures, and air and bacteria can easily enter. So when choosing honey, you can choose it in small jars, which can be eaten in a few days, or buy it in small bags and eat one bag at a time. If unfortunately you buy a large can, it doesn't matter. Just buy a roll of plastic wrap, cover the lid after each meal, and then wrap the mouth of the bottle with plastic wrap.
2. No need to put it in the refrigerator
Many people like to put honey in the refrigerator, which will cause it to crystallize and precipitate glucose. Although this change does not affect the safety of honey, nor does it affect its nutritional value, it will only affect the uniformity of the taste. So it is best not to store honey in the refrigerator.
3. Ginger slices to prevent deterioration
To keep honey for a long time without deterioration or taste, you can add an appropriate amount of ginger slices to the honey. The method is: choose pure honey without impurities, put it into a clean glass bottle or ceramic jar, then add a small piece of ginger to every 500 grams of honey, seal it and store it in a cool place, so that it can be stored for a long time without deterioration.
4. Cold water storage
Another storage method is to store the bottled honey in cold water. Use a bag to pack the bottled honey, and the seal should be tight to prevent water leakage. Fill a basin of suitable size with water and put it in a cool place, then put the honey in it.
5. Store at low temperature and away from light
Honey should be stored in a low temperature and away from light. Since honey is a weakly acidic liquid and can react chemically with metals, chemical reactions will occur when it comes into contact with metals such as lead, zinc, and iron during storage. Therefore, non-metallic containers such as ceramics, glass bottles, non-toxic plastic buckets and other containers should be used to store honey.
6. Pay attention to the capacity of the container
Honey stored for a long time will produce gas, which will increase the air pressure in the bottle. If the bottle storing honey is well sealed, the air pressure can continue The accumulation cannot be released, so the best result is that you cannot open the bottle cap when you want to eat honey. In order to avoid this situation, the bottle containing honey should not be filled too full, leaving one-seventh of the air in, so that there is a buffer to avoid a sharp increase in air pressure.
