Japanese rice balls
Traditional Japanese rice balls are triangular in shape. A pickled sour plum (super sour) is wrapped in the rice ball, and a piece of dried seaweed is wrapped around it. It is very convenient to carry. There is a lot of care in making onigiri. You need to dip your hands with some salt when kneading it. Compared with sushi, onigiri feels more civilian.
Origin
During the Warring States Period in Japan, rice balls were used as dry food for ancient Japanese soldiers when they marched and fought. Rice balls are still very popular today due to their delicious taste and portability. There are a lot of things to pay attention to when making onigiri. If you use too much force when kneading the rice balls, the rice balls will stick to your hands. If you don't use enough force, the rice balls will fall apart.
