Both are excellent sheep feeds.
The protein content of corn germ meal is greater than that of soybean meal, and the price is relatively cheap. However, the amount of corn germ meal used in total mixed rations is limited, and the maximum amount used in sheep can only reach 20%. This is because the content of Aspergillus flavus in corn germ meal is high, and excessive use can easily cause yellow fat.
Soybean meal and soybean cake are rich in protein and less cellulose, and have good palatability. They are indispensable plant protein feeds for livestock and poultry. Therefore, the choice of feed depends on specific feeding conditions and goals.
