The difference between fenugreek and Cyperus rotundus
Sedge and fenugreek are very similar, but they are different plants. Cyperus sedge has a main stem, which is unbranched and grows upright. Each plant has only one flower, and the flower is gray. Fenugreek is mostly branched and grows a rhizome in three directions. Fenugreek flowers are light green, and fenugreek can grow vertically.

On the left is sedge and on the right is Trifolium Trigonella foenum-graecum (Figure).

Sedge is very similar to fenugreek, so it is easy to make mistakes if you don't look carefully. Some experienced farmers sometimes confuse them.

In particular, I saw some problems about agriculture, rural areas and farmers. I often call sedge fenugreek, but it is actually two different grasses.

Although sedge is very similar to fenugreek, it is easy to be mistaken and confused if you don't look carefully, and some people often refer to sedge as fenugreek, but it is actually completely different grass.

Brief introduction of fenugreek plants

Spartina, also known as Pinellia ternata, is an important medicinal material. There are two kinds of Spartina: aquatic and terrestrial, namely Pinellia ternata and Pinellia ternata. The medicinal value of Pinellia ternata is stronger than that of Pinellia ternata, and its tuber can be used as medicine, which is toxic and has antitussive, antiemetic, antiulcer, sedative and hypnotic effects.

Fenugreek is a very common weed, which is perennial, not only in paddy fields, but also in other crops, roadsides and ditches.

Fenugreek has a strong reproductive ability, and a lot of energy is spent on prevention and control every year, but the severity of the occurrence has not decreased every year.

After fenugreek appears in some areas of the field, other areas will appear soon. It is precisely because of its strong reproductive ability that it competes with crops for water and fertilizer, which has a great influence on the normal growth of crops.

Brief introduction of Cyperus rotundus

Cyperus, also known as Cyperus rotundus, Cyperus rotundus, Cyperus angustifolia, Cyperus Jinmen, etc. , belonging to Cyperaceae Cyperaceae, is widely distributed in China, mainly in Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Henan, Sichuan and South China.

The difference between fenugreek and Cyperus rotundus

1, different shapes

There is a black rectangular spherical stem block at the bottom of sedge, and there are many fibrous roots on the bulb. When it grows to 2-3 cm, it will send out new seedlings. The plant above sedge is green, just a main stem, unbranched, and the stem grows upright. The main stem has 8- 15 leaves, each plant has only one flower, and the flower is gray.

The underground rhizome of Pinellia ternata has only fibrous roots, but no main roots. The color of fibrous roots is white and gray, and the whole plant above is green, and most of them will branch. One stem grows in three directions and the other main stem grows in the middle, forming a triangle, so it is called Trifolium Trigonella foenum-graecum, and the color of Trifolium Trigonella foenum-graecum is light green.

2, the growth environment is different

Cyperus sedge likes to grow in thin land, sandy land and stone valley, especially on the hillside. Generally, it is not in fertile land, all clay land or low-lying land. It likes dry soil, not afraid of drought, but also resistant to short-term waterlogging, and long-term waterlogging will wither.

Spartina alterniflora can grow in thin land, fertile land, sloping land, low-lying land, sandy land, muddy land and water area, especially at the corner of paddy field and ridge. Spartina is a tenacious weed that can survive both on land and in water.
