The steps to build a thatched shed are as follows
1. Fix 2 temporary columns in the middle of the room to the required roof elevation. Depending on the indoor area, 3 can be fixed symmetrically or multiple columns.
2. Fix a crossbar on two or more upright columns as a spine purlin. Install the rafters symmetrically, with one end fixed on the crossbar and the other end fixed on the wall or beam
3. If it is fixed on the beam, reserve the corresponding iron wire or 8-12mm diameter when pouring the beam. The spacing of steel bars is about 1 to 1.5m.
4. According to construction requirements, install inclined columns and purlins to reinforce the roof trusses. The spacing of purlins is approximately 0.5 to 0.7m, and is proportional to the length of the thatch unit.
5. After the roof thatch is laid, saw it off 0.8 to 1.2m away from the upper end of the column.
6. The thatch is laid in order from bottom to top, one layer on top of the other. Use nylon rope or iron wire to tie the thatch to the purlins, and use a wooden brush to comb them neatly, especially Thatch roots.
7. Try to make the overlap of thatch fall on the purlin and cover it to improve the integrity and beauty of the indoor roof.
