Character evaluation
After Shohei Imamura became famous, his works mainly showed people's greed and the violence caused by it. Shohei Imamura's films are good at describing sex, and most heroines, whether big or small, have to be naked (Phoenix Network Review).
Shohei Imamura is good at excavating the hidden things in Japanese culture from the basic aspects of life, death and sex, especially the concept of life and death, bad habits, sex culture and erotic culture. He often makes amazing moves in image processing and theme selection, and he is always uneasy with the status quo. As early as when he served as the assistant director of Yasujirō Ozu, he had made it clear that he could not stand the mountain-like style of Master Ozu (Sina Entertainment Review).
