1. Soil preparation and fertilization
Planting Mao Cong should choose a relatively flat plot with loose soil, strong water and fertilizer conservation ability and convenient irrigation and drainage. Before planting, the plot should be leveled and raked, and high-quality decomposed farmyard manure and NPK compound fertilizer should be applied, and the application amount of fertilizer should be determined according to the actual situation.
2. Sowing and raising seedlings
In Mao Cong, sowing is usually from April 5 to April 10 (it can be advanced or postponed as appropriate depending on weather and other factors), and two rows are planted on each ridge, with plant spacing 10 cm and row spacing 15 cm. Before planting, the furrow on the ridge surface should be widened appropriately, and the soil should be covered 1-2 cm after planting. After Mao Cong's appearance, he can shovel three times to weed and loosen the soil between seedlings according to the grass conditions.
3. Top dressing irrigation
When Mao Cong encounters drought during the growing period, it can be irrigated and planted in a large area, and sprinkler irrigation can be used to keep the soil moist frequently, which is conducive to growth. Under normal circumstances, if it doesn't rain for 7 days, you need to spray irrigation once. Urea is topdressed three times per mu. Generally, the ridge surface is spread manually and then sprayed with water to promote its melting and absorption. Topdressing can be carried out from late May to early June.
4. Pest control
Attention should be paid to downy mildew, gray mold and purple spot. Insect pests such as thrips allii have invaded Mao Cong, and corresponding chemicals can be sprayed in advance for control.
In addition, when the outer scales of bulbs in Mao Cong are dry, they should be harvested in time, otherwise the quality and yield will be affected.
