Dog Shark Reproduction:
Ovoviviparous, with rounded egg shells. Paired eggs are released into the benthic environment. Egg cases are 11 cm x 15 cm long and flattened.
Embryos feed exclusively on yolk in the egg case until hatching and free swimming. In captivity, it may take up to 4 months from the time the female is released to hatch. After hatching, young sharks are 13-17 centimeters in total length.
