Juvenile black shell shrimp eat plankton and algae. In places rich in aquatic plants, the staple food of adult shrimp is algae, organic debris and plant debris. The artificially raised black shell shrimp mainly feeds on algae, plankton and food residues at the bottom of the pond, and can also be fed with frozen blood worms, artificial shrimp food and cooked spinach. When the black shell shrimp is too hungry, it will eat the tender leaves or rotten parts of aquatic plants in the tank.

1. What do shrimps eat?

3. When there are algae in the tank, shrimp shells generally don't eat aquatic plants, but when they are too hungry, they will also eat some tender leaves of aquatic plants, and aquatic plants will eat rotten parts after rotting.

Second, the main points of feeding

1, water temperature and water quality

(1) The optimum temperature for the growth of freshwater shrimp is 10-30℃. If it is lower than 10℃, it will affect the reproduction of black shell shrimp and even stop feeding.

(2) The water quality should be kept clear, and too much ammonia and nitrate in the water will directly lead to the death of black shell shrimp.

2. Reasonable polyculture

(1) The shell shrimp is small in size, so it can only be mixed with some docile small ornamental fish in the tank, and cannot be mixed with nocturnal ornamental fish and large ornamental fish.

(2) Some hidden objects can be placed in the aquarium for the black shell shrimp to hide. Don't turn on the light at will to prevent the black shell shrimp from shelling ahead of time.

3. Feed bait

(1) During the feeding period, feeding 1 time every 3-5 days, appropriately increasing the feeding times and occasionally feeding some clean red worms can make them grow better.

(2) If the purpose of feeding is to remove algae, there is no need to feed the black shell shrimp, so as to avoid them getting used to eating algae after feeding.
