1, select and start making masks. A standard mask covers just above the eyebrows and above the cheekbones, but your mask doesn't have to meet this standard. The basic masquerade mask is an elongated horizontal oval with a curved protuberance at the nose. More exquisite masquerade masks have more coverage on cheeks and foreheads, and both ends are decorated with exaggerated dots.

2. Draw or print the outline of the designed mask on a piece of paper. If you want the mask to be stronger, use card paper to make it. You can also stick a few pieces of paper together to make it stronger. If you want the mask to have a smooth outline and enough internal blank space, you should use stationery-sized paper.

3. Add some details outside the wheel. This step can improve the shape of the mask, and some necessary adjustments can be made appropriately. The added details will also be part of the mask shape. Adding flames or wavy lines to the outline of the mask can make it more interesting and even completely change its shape. Consider flames, wavy lines, hearts, stars, or geometric shapes.

4. Cut off the mask. The quality of scissors should be good, so as not to suddenly get stuck or tear when cutting. Leave extra space on the edge of the contour to connect the strap or handle. Cut out the eye hole, but it needs to be bigger than the eye. A wider view is safer and more comfortable, and you can see better.

5. Mark the colored area of the mask. The mark should be put down lightly, and it must be visually uncomfortable to look at the mark through a thick layer of pigment. The surface design of the mask can include various colors and materials. Sketching the outline in advance can keep the mask symmetrical.

6. Color the mask. Apply several layers of pigment properly to make the color look rich and full. The choice of colors varies from person to person, but traditional colors include red and metallic colors. To ensure clear lines, you can use a small brush to color them.

7. Let the pigment dry fully. Put the painted mask in an open place and let it go. Based on the selected pigment type, it takes four hours to dry the pigment.

8. Color and decorate the round stick connecting the mask. If you don't have a round stick, you can use chopsticks, a solid straw or a carefully rolled piece of paper. Feathers are the most widely used decorations for round sticks, and you can also use a string of pearls, leaves or any suitable decorations.

9. Stick the handle on the back of the mask. Although other methods are also applicable, the simplest way is to use a glue gun. The sticking position of the handle is not important. Some masks have handles in the middle, others are stuck on either side of the mask, and some masks even have no handles.

10, let the glue dry fully. Hold the round stick stuck in the set position for 30 seconds to ensure the position is fixed and safe. If it moves, use more glue.
