According to legend, during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Qianlong traveled incognito and passed through Mengcheng. He is hungry and thirsty. In the evening, he went to an inn owned by an old mother and her only daughter. The old mother saw several distinguished guests, although they were dusty, but they were dressed very neatly. The shopkeeper greeted her with a smile, served tea, told her daughter to kill two fat old hens and stew them in a casserole. It was early summer, and Gan Long and his entourage were sitting in the courtyard, chatting while drinking tea, waiting for dinner. Who knows, they didn't see the food sent by the store until sunset. Gan Long was hungry and ordered the waiter to hurry up. The shopkeeper replied, "The chicken soup is not ready yet, and the guest officer is waiting." Impatient Qianlong stepped out of the store and saw the manned grandmother knocking on wheat grains under the moon in front of the door. Gan Long asked, "Mom, why are you knocking on the wheat?" The shopkeeper replied, "I don't have any rice here. We all cook porridge with wheat grains." Ganlong walked into the kitchen with a handful of glistening wheat in his hand. He said to the girl, "Is this wheat delicious in a chicken soup pot?" The girl smiled and said, "It will be delicious." With that, he lifted the lid and Gan Long put the wheat in. When Qianlong returned to the courtyard and waited for another half an hour, he suddenly smelled a tangy smell coming from the kitchen. The girl filled several bowls of chicken soup, added spices such as sesame oil and pepper, and served it on a tray. Gan Long tasted it and it tasted very good. When fishing with bamboo chopsticks, the chicken is boneless and mixed with wheat grains, which is more delicious than the royal banquet! Gan Longlian ate three bowls and praised: Good soup. After a long meal, he asked the shopkeeper the name of the soup. The shopkeeper didn't know the name of the soup, so he whispered "What soup". This soup originally meant "what soup" in Mengcheng dialect, but Emperor Qianlong mistakenly thought it was called "what soup". As soon as Qianlong was happy to leave Mo Bao with the shopkeeper, he asked the shopkeeper how to write it, but the shopkeeper couldn't read and didn't know how to write it, or an attendant around Qianlong used his quick wits and remembered the scene of the emperor waiting for chicken soup under the moon, so he invented a new word: moonlight as a companion, and "moon" as one side. Gan Long looks like a word, but it looks strange. I don't remember when I saw it in Emperor Kangxi's dictionary. So life attendants took out Four Treasures of the Study, began to write the word "soup", the following topic "dry dragon imperial book" for storage.
The owner's grandmother couldn't read, so she showed the inscription of Ganlong to a learned local person. When the man saw it, he was surprised and said that it was written by Emperor Qianlong today. Afterwards, the store asked the carpenter to carefully make a signboard and carve an inscription on it. When passers-by saw this signboard, they all came to taste the "soup sprinkling" tasted by Emperor Qianlong. Since then, the business of the small shop has been booming. Seeing this, other stores also imitated the word "sprinkle soup" in Qianlong Imperial Book as a gold-lettered signboard and opened a soup-sprinkling shop.
