The waterbuck is one of the smallest river ducks, less than 40 centimeters in length and only 2/3 the size of the common mallard.Waterbucks weigh around 1-7 kilograms, with specific weights being affected by breed, sex and individual differences. Some of the smaller varieties of mallard weigh around 1 kilogram, while the larger varieties can reach a weight of around 7 kilograms. Waterbucks are relatively small, adapted to aquatic environments and have good swimming and diving abilities. They mainly feed on aquatic plants, insects and small fish and inhabit waters such as lakes, rivers and marshes. Water ducks play an important role in the ecosystem, and have a certain role in the balance and maintenance of the wetland ecosystem.
