Silkworms growth process is divided into four stages:
, hatching: the baby silkworm is hatched from the egg, silkworm eggs initially look similar to the appearance of the white sesame seeds, to be slowly black, the baby silkworms will be drilled out of the egg shells, the baby silkworms are just born black! The newborn silkworms are black and look like tiny ants, so they are also called ant silkworms.
, growth: after the silkworm starts to eat mulberry leaves, its body will slowly turn white, and after four times of shedding skin, it grows into a fifth instar larva, at which time the baby silkworm will look for a suitable location and start to spit silk.
, cocooning: after the baby silkworms start spitting out silk, it usually takes two days to make the cocoon and transform into a pupa in the cocoon.
, adult: about 10 days, the silkworm pupa will break out of the cocoon, feathered into an adult, and in a short period of time to complete mating, lay fertilized eggs, and then gradually die.
