Simiao Pill was originally recorded in "Danxi Heart Method" written by Zhu Danxi in the Yuan Dynasty. Simiao Pill is effective in treating damp-heat and is a commonly used medicine in traditional Chinese medicine to treat damp-heat.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that Simiao Pill is mainly used to treat weak spleen and stomach, inability to transport and transform, phlegm in the chest, reduced diet, and loose stools.

It is used for numbness of the feet, flaccidity of the lower limbs, muscle and bone pain, and eczema and itching of the shins caused by damp heat.

Dampness and heat in traditional Chinese medicine have many manifestations. The general manifestations of dampness and heat are: heaviness of the limbs, fever that is most obvious in the afternoon and is not relieved by sweating; yellow and greasy tongue coating, and rapid pulse. The specific manifestations vary depending on the location of the damp-heat: eczema or blisters on the skin and muscles; local swelling and pain on the joints and muscles. But generally speaking, damp-heat refers to damp-heat that penetrates deep into the organs, especially the spleen and stomach. It can be seen as fullness in the abdomen, nausea and anorexia, loose stools, short red urine, and rapid pulse; other damp-heat in the liver and gallbladder manifests as swelling and pain in the liver area. Bitter mouth and poor appetite, or yellowing of the body and eyes, or alternating fever and intolerance to cold, stringy and rapid pulse; Damp and hot bladder indicates frequent urination, urgent urination, less astringency and pain: yellowish and turbid color; Damp and hot large intestine indicates abdominal pain and diarrhea, even tenesmus and pus diarrhea Bloody stools, burning in the anus, and thirst.

The theory of traditional Chinese medicine explains that the formula of Simiao Pill contains Atractylodes to clear away dampness and strengthen the spleen; Phellodendron to clear away heat and dry dampness; Achyranthes root tonify the liver and kidneys, strengthen muscles and bones; Yiren removes dampness and heat, and strengthens the muscles and collaterals. The combination of the four flavors is an excellent medicine for treating damp-heat impotence syndrome. It is made by adding Achyranthes bidentata and Coix to Ermiao Powder.

In modern pharmacological research, various drugs in Simiao Pills mainly have antibacterial, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, sedative and other effects.

1. Antibacterial: Cortex Cortex is effective against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, and can inhibit fungi.

Antipyretic and anti-inflammatory: Coixin, the active ingredient in coix seed, has a good antipyretic effect, and Achyranthes bidentata has obvious anti-inflammatory and swelling effects.
