There are two theories about the origin of the third day of March of the Li nationality:
According to the first statement, according to legend, a long time ago, the Li people who lived in the Changhua River suffered a catastrophic flood, killing people and animals, leaving only a pair of brothers and sisters named Tian Fei and Nanyin. When the two brothers and sisters grew up, they decided to look for partners separately and meet again at the foot of Yanwo Mountain on March 3rd every year. After that, Nanyin and Lady Tian Fei and their descendants will come back here to welcome the spring on March 3rd every year. In memory of them, the Li family called the cave the Mother Cave, and March 3rd naturally became a grand festival for the Li family.
According to the second statement, it is said that a long time ago, there was a wicked crow spirit in the cave, which made the people of Lebanon unable to live and work in peace and contentment. One day, the crow essence caught the beautiful Li girl, Russian Niang. On March 3 this year, Gui, the sweetheart of Russian Niang, went up the mountain with a sharp knife and bow to save her, and was killed by the crow essence. Hearing the news, the Russian mother was extremely sad, and finally killed the crow essence while it was sleeping, revenged for Agui, and saved the Li people from great harm. My mother has never been married, and every year on the third day of the third lunar month, she will go to Exian Cave to sing the love songs when she and Aki were in love. Later, in order to commemorate her, the Li people named this cave Erniang Cave (Changjiang).
On May 20th, 2006, the 3rd March Festival of Li nationality was approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
