When to sow peanuts? Peanut planting time in the north and south

1. Peanut sowing time: around March and July-August in the south, and from late April to early May in the north.

2. Due to different weather conditions in various regions, peanut cultivation techniques are different:

(1) Peanuts can be sown two seasons a year in the south.

① Sow seeds in spring around March of the lunar calendar. Spring peanuts bear more fruit than autumn peanuts, and the fruits are plump.

② Autumn peanuts should be sown in early August at lower altitudes, and in late July at higher altitudes. If they are planted on dry slopes, they should be sown early to reduce the impact of autumn drought.

(2) The northern cold and alpine areas with short frost-free periods mainly plant multi-grain varieties; northern peanut areas mostly plant ordinary varieties. The suitable sowing period for large peanut areas and peanut production areas in the north is mostly from late April to early May.
