The disease is caused by Clostridium welchii type D. After being eaten by sheep with feed or drinking water, it rapidly propagates in the intestines of sheep, and a large number of toxins are absorbed by the body and poisoned, which is sporadic.
(2) Symptoms
Sheep often die within 1 ~ 4 hours after onset, and the course of disease will be slightly longer in the late epidemic period. The main manifestations of sheep after onset are motionless or lying on the ground, or running, sometimes eating with their heads down, chewing with forage or other foreign objects in their mouths without swallowing; Gastrointestinal peristalsis is weak, and some of them have bowel sounds or diarrhea at the end of their lives, discharging yellowish-brown watery stool or discharging a small amount of mucus; Neurological symptoms before death, coma; The temperature is generally normal. Acute cases of elevated urine sugar (2% ~ 6%) are the characteristics of this disease.

Inject "Four Prevention of Sheep" once a year in spring and autumn.
(4) treatment
Newly discovered sick sheep with a long course of disease can be treated with the following drugs.
① intramuscular injection of chloramphenicol, 0.5 ~ 0.7g each time, 3 times a day.
② intramuscular injection of 800,000 units of penicillin and 500 mg of streptomycin, every 6 hours 1 time, 3 ~ 4 times in a row.
③ Tannic acid 12g, bismuth subnitrate 10g, phthalazinone thiazole (PST) 12g, silicon carbon silver 30g, medicinal carbon 15g, mixed and ground into powder, and taken once every 6 hours.
④ In case of severe dehydration, 500 ml of glucose physiological saline can be injected intravenously, and 5 ml of 10% caffeine sodium can be added once every 3 ~ 5 hours.
