Based on the site of tumor occurrence, it can be divided into central type and peripheral type.

(1) Central type: the tumor occurs in the medullary cavity, showing irregular osteolytic destruction or large thick-walled hyaline cavity with sclerotic margins, and there are often curved, circular and irregular calcified spots; sometimes a large amount of calcification covers the destruction area, forming a sclerotic shadow; the cortex of the bone is swollen and thinned, and may even be chronically penetrated, causing subperiosteal neoblasts in the form of laminae or cuffs, and thickening of the cortex can be seen in some cases. In some cases, thickening of the cortex is seen, and a mass is formed in the soft tissue, in which there may be cotton-wool or hair-like fluffy calcification.

(2) peripheral type: originated from the periosteum or bone cortex, manifested as a large soft tissue mass next to the bone cortex, the edge is often foliated, which scattered a large number of flocculated or clustered calcified shadows, there can also be radiating bone needles, calcified edges of the fuzzy, uneven contours, the bone cortex confined to the destruction.
