Durian in this country is expensive.
In 2019, The Guardian reported on the launch of a durian variety called JQueen in Indonesia, priced at US$1,000 each. This rare durian has caused a great sensation in Indonesia since its introduction.
It is not because of the peculiar taste of this kind of durian, but because of its price. The selling price of a single durian is more than three times the average monthly salary of ordinary people in the local area. Several of the main durian varieties are displayed in glass frames, with a price tag of 14 million Indonesian rupiahs, about 6,700 yuan, next to the glass frames.
