Xiangqiao District belongs to Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province, and is the central city of Chaozhou City. The center is located at116 38 ′ east longitude and about 23 40 ′ north latitude. It is connected to Raoping County and Chenghai District of Shantou City in the east, Chaoan District and Fengxi District in the west, Chaoan District and Chenghai District of Shantou City in the south, and Chaoan District and Raoping County in the north.
Xiangqiao District is a county-level organizational district approved by the State Council 199 1 and 12. It is the political, economic and cultural center of Chaozhou, located in the middle and lower reaches of Hanjiang River and the transportation hub of Fujian and Guangdong. Xiangqiao District is named after Xiangzi Bridge, one of the four ancient bridges in China. The area under the jurisdiction is 155 14 square kilometers. At the end of 2003, the total population was 343,500, including 78,800 agricultural population and 264,600 non-agricultural population.
