The original seeds of Xingyue Bodhi, yellow vine perennial plant, can be used as medicine. It is cultivated in southeastern Guangdong, Hong Kong, Hainan and southwestern Guangxi, and in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan.
China is an area south of 23°30'N, with an average annual temperature of 20 to 24.5°C, extreme low temperatures greater than -2.8°C, annual active accumulated temperatures above 15°C greater than 5800°C, and annual precipitation greater than 1200 mm. It is a suitable cultivation area for yellow vine. The tropical areas of Hainan Island are below 1,000 meters above sea level, and the southern China area is in plains, hills and mountains below 300 meters above sea level. The vegetation is natural or artificial broad-leaved forest, secondary shrubland, fir forest or masson pine forest on the middle and lower slopes. The soil is brick. Red soil and red soil, the soil layer is greater than 80 cm, the organic matter content of the topsoil layer is greater than 2.0, the total nitrogen is greater than 0.1, the total phosphorus is greater than 0.01, and ph4.3~6.7 is suitable for yellow vine cultivation.
Seed collection, seed processing and seed storage
Standardized seedling cultivation and afforestation in small production areas, mature seeds can be collected at any time for sowing and cultivating large seedlings. For large-scale seedling cultivation, the optimal seed collection period is from November to December. The peel of yellow vine is hard, and the gum-tanned and tough flesh contains solid seeds. The seed embryos are small and easy to lose their vitality. They should be processed in time after harvesting to prevent mildew and loss of germination. Seed processing method: first hit the fruit lightly with a hammer, peel and remove the flesh, then soak the seeds in water and mix with sand and rub them to remove the remaining pulp and the outer gum layer of the seeds, wash them and dry them in the shade, and avoid exposing them to the sun. . Years of experience have shown that excellent seed quality indicators: clarity 97.7, thousand-grain weight 1500-1700g, safe seed moisture content 29-31, sand bed germination rate 65-85, seedling rate 90-95.
Seedling cultivation technology
Sand bed germination is safe, reliable, low cost, and effective, and is suitable for large-scale seedling cultivation. Collect seeds in winter, when the temperature is low and the seeds are in a dormant state, it is better to use a sand bed for germination. Sand bed germination method: Use clean river sand to make a sand bed 80 cm wide and 15 cm high. Spread the seeds evenly on the bed surface at a seeding rate of 1.5 to 2.0 kg/m2. After sowing, use a wooden board to gently press the seeds into the sand. Cover with 0.5-25cm of thin sand and set up a rain shelter. Moisturize with water every day. Seeds are collected in November and sown immediately. They will germinate one after another in March of the following year and can be transplanted in batches from April to May. Plant vines in a suitable location.
