How to make a Barbie skirt:
Materials and tools: linen, ruler, piece of white paper, sewing machine (can be replaced by needle and thread), scissors, Velcro.
Steps:
1. Use a ruler to measure the doll’s waist.
2. Measure the length from waist to a little below the knee.
3. Take out a piece of white paper and fold it in half.
4. Draw the length from waist to knee on the folded line and draw two points.
5. Draw a line perpendicular to the fold line from one of the points, the length of which is consistent with the waist circumference.
6. Draw a line perpendicular to the fold line at another point, the length of which is slightly larger than the waist circumference.
7. Connect these two lines again.
8. Draw a rectangle, with the long side slightly larger than the waist and the width about 2-3cm.
9. Cut along the lines, and a trapezoid and rectangle drawing will appear.
10. Place it on top of the cloth and cut out a piece according to the size.
11. Take out the trapezoidal fabric and use a sewing machine to hem the four edges. If you don’t have a sewing machine, you can skip this step.
12. Fold the bottom edge upward a little.
13. Sew on.
14. Find a thread on the top edge and tighten it, and pull out the pleats (if there is none, you can sew a thread through it).
15. Pay attention when pumping, and pull the pleats evenly at the same time.
16. Take out the rectangular piece of cloth and fold it in half.
17. Sew on one side of the pleat.
18. Fold the skirt in half on the wrong side.
19. Starting from the hem of the skirt, sew upwards 1cm away from the edge, approximately to the crotch. You need to compare it with your own doll body.
20. Turn the skirt to the front.
21. Sew on the Velcro.
22. Cut off the extra 1cm just now. The purpose of this is to make the skirt slimmer and more natural.
23. Finished product picture.
