Sichuan Cuisine College (referred to as Sichuan Cuisine College for short) was founded in 1985. It was originally affiliated to the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Domestic Trade of the People's Republic of China. 1998 was placed under the charge of the Sichuan provincial government due to the reform of the national university system. It is the only full-time public ordinary university in China that specializes in cultivating tourism and catering talents. The school now covers a total area of 7 10 mu (otherwise planned land 1 160 mu), and has three campuses, namely Qingjiang, Beixiangzi and Longquan. Qingjiang Campus (headquarters) is located on the bank of Huanhua River in the western suburbs of Chengdu, adjacent to the famous Du Fu Caotang, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Sichuan Normal University, Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and many other institutions.
At present, there are more than 6,000 students and 442 faculty members, including 3 professors, 9 associate professors, doctors and doctoral students, including 6 experts who enjoy special allowances from the State Council, outstanding experts at ministerial level, experts with outstanding contributions in Sichuan Province and reserve candidates for academic and technical leaders in Sichuan Province. National vocational skills judges 15 people, 56 people have obtained national advanced vocational qualifications, and 38 people are national masters and famous teachers. There are also part-time teachers 10 1 person, who have hired foreign experts for many years. The existing teaching instruments and equipment are worth 26.463 million yuan. There are 534,000 books. There are hotel experimental training teaching center, catering service training building, English autonomous learning center, tourism resources exhibition room, simulated travel agency, tour guide training room, tourism exhibition center, comprehensive gymnasium, golf driving range, beach volleyball court, tennis court, swimming pool and rock climbing and other advanced leisure sports facilities.
Campus Scenery School attaches great importance to international exchanges and has a strong academic atmosphere. Now it has established a long-term inter-school cooperative relationship with French Duquet Hotel Management College and Marseille Hotel Management College, and regularly sends teachers and students to communicate with each other. Every year, teachers go to the United States, Britain, France, Italy, Japan, Canada and other countries to study, study, give lectures and exchange, and receive more than 2,000 visitors from all over the world every year. In the talent evaluation of higher vocational colleges in May 2007, the school's achievements were well received by the expert group of the Ministry of Education. Sichuan Cuisine College is the deputy director of the teaching steering committee of the catering management and service specialty in higher vocational colleges of the Ministry of Education, and the main examiners of the self-taught examinations for the specialties of cooking technology, hotel management and catering management in Sichuan Province. At present, it has covered undergraduate, junior college, oral vocational school (for graduates from vocational high schools, technical secondary schools and technical schools), five-year vocational school (for junior high school graduates), adult education and short-term training (for classes in March and May), etc.
