The licorice in Erchen decoction should be roasted licorice.

Erchen decoction originated from Volume 4 of Taiping Huimin Hejiju Fang in Song Dynasty.

Consists of Pinellia ternata (washed in soup for seven times), dried tangerine peel150g, 90g of Poria cocos and 45g of Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch.

When in use, the medicine is coarse powder. Each dose 12g, water 150ml, 7 slices of ginger, and ebony 1 slice are all decocted to 90ml, without taking hot clothes, regardless of time.

Function of eliminating dampness and phlegm, regulating qi and regulating middle energizer.

Indications are phlegm-dampness blocking collaterals, disharmony between spleen and stomach, fullness in chest and wrist, vomiting and nausea, dizziness and palpitation, or cough with excessive phlegm.
