Fairy Lake is located in Tieshan Scenic Area, which is more than 800 meters long, 200 meters wide and 30 meters deep. Since 1970s, local villagers have built dams to seal the water, which intercepted the spring water flowing into the Yellow Sea in the mountains. In the 1980s, many kinds of fish were introduced, including flounder.

Appearance characteristics of mackerel: long body, flat side, round abdomen, about 18 cm long, short head and blunt snout. Mouth position, slightly inclined upward, maxilla slightly longer than mandible, upper and lower maxilla flat without notch. The lip is thick, and the maxilla extends backward to the posterior edge of the eye.
