It is shaped like an ingot. In the traditional concept, eating it can protect the family's safety and health. Qingming fruit, also known as Qingtuan, Bobobo (Fuzhou), Qingmingba (Jiangxi), Qingmingmo (Sichuan), Haoziba (Anhui), Aiguo, etc., is one of the special foods of Han nationality in southern provinces of China.
The origin of eating Qingming fruit: It is said that in Tomb-Sweeping Day at the end of the Qing Dynasty, the Taiping Army during the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Movement was pursued by pursuers. In order to protect him, the local people mixed grass juice into glutinous rice flour to entertain the pursuers.
After eating this kind of food, the pursuers relaxed their vigilance, so they also let the Taiping Army escape. Later, Li Xiucheng ordered the Taiping Army to learn how to make it, and then Tomb-Sweeping Day had the custom of eating Qingming fruit.
The custom of Tomb-Sweeping Day
Traditional custom 1: sweeping graves to worship ancestors
In the history of China, cold food and fire were forbidden to pay homage to ancestors, and Tomb-Sweeping Day's grave-sweeping and ancestor-worshipping became a continuous custom and tradition. Even in today's society, before and after Tomb-Sweeping Day, people still have the custom of going to graves to pay homage to their ancestors: uprooting weeds, putting offerings, offering incense and prayers in front of graves, burning paper money and gold ingots, or simply offering a bunch of flowers to express their memory of their ancestors.
Tradition 2: Swing
Swing, which means pulling the leather rope and moving. Its history is very old. It was first called Qianqiu, and later it was changed to a swing to avoid taboos. In ancient times, swings were made of branches of trees and tied with ribbons. Later, it gradually developed into a swing with two ropes and pedals. Swing can not only improve health, but also cultivate courage, which is loved by people, especially children.
Traditional custom 3: Cuju
Bow is a kind of rubber ball, the skin of which is made of leather, and the ball is stuffed with wool. Cuju is to play football with your feet. This is a popular game in ancient Tomb-Sweeping Day. According to legend, it was invented by the Yellow Emperor, with the original purpose of training warriors.
