Red swordfish will breed once every six weeks or 30 to 50 days, and can breed more than 50 to 300 small fish each time. The number of fish is related to body size, breeding water quality, water temperature and internal breeding environment. Before breeding, you need to prepare a large fish tank, then control the temperature at 24 to 26°C, and release broodstock fish for breeding according to a male to female ratio of 1:4. How long does it take for red swordfish to breed?
Red swordfish can usually start to breed at about seven months, and will breed in about six weeks or every 30 to 50 days. At one time, more than 300 small fish can be born each time, but this mainly depends on the size of the red swordfish.
The smaller red swordfish may only breed more than 100 small fish. If the water quality, water temperature and internal breeding environment do not meet the requirements, the red swordfish may be postponed. The time and cycle of breeding, if the feeding conditions are sufficient, may breed earlier.
If you want red swordfish to breed, you need to prepare a large fish tank and keep the water temperature between 24 and 26°C. Then release the broodstock according to the male to female ratio of 1:4. When the time comes to give birth, the water temperature needs to be raised to about 2°C. Reproduction can begin when the red swordfish reaches 3 to 4 months old.
