Jixian County was called Yuyang in ancient times, a country without end in the Spring and Autumn Period and a city without end in the Warring States Period. The Qin Dynasty belonged to Beiping County, and Jizhou was established in the Tang Dynasty. In two years, it was renamed Jixian County.
