Workflow: Stepping motor generally needs two pulses: signal pulse and direction pulse. The working process of the servo motor is to connect a power switch and then connect the servo motor.
Low-frequency characteristics: the stepper motor is prone to low-frequency vibration at low speed, while the servo motor runs very smoothly, and there will be no vibration even at low speed.
Moment-frequency characteristics: the output torque of stepping motor decreases with the increase of speed, and it will drop sharply at higher speed, so its maximum working speed is generally 300 ~ 600 r/min. Servo motor has constant torque output, that is, it outputs rated torque within its rated speed range (generally 2000 or 3000r/min) and outputs constant power above the rated speed.
Overload capacity: Stepping motors generally do not have overload capacity. Servo motor has strong overload capacity.
Accuracy: The accuracy of stepping motor is better than that of servo motor, because it does not accumulate errors and usually only needs to do open-loop control. The accuracy of servo motor depends on the resolution of encoder.
Speed response: the response speed of stepping motor is slow, which takes hundreds of milliseconds, while the acceleration performance of AC servo system is good, which usually takes only a few milliseconds.
Anti-interference ability: the stepping motor has high temperature, low efficiency, high noise and poor anti-interference ability; Servo motor has low temperature rise, high efficiency, low noise and strong anti-interference ability.
Maintainability: stepper motor is basically maintenance-free; Servo motor has good maintainability.
Price: the price of stepping motor is low; Servo motors are expensive.
