Introduction to movable type printing
Movable type printing is an ancient printing method, which was invented by working people in ancient China through long-term practice and research. First, make a model of the original text and inverted text of the single word, then select the single word according to the original, arrange it in the font plate, ink it and print it, and then remove the font after printing, so as to use it again in the next typesetting. The invention of movable type printing is a great technological revolution in the history of printing. Movable type printing of clay marks was invented by Bi Sheng (about 970-1051-1) in China during the Northern Song Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty. He was the first inventor in the world, about 400 years earlier than the movable type printing of German Johannes Gutenberg. In Yuan Dynasty, Wang Zhen successfully created wooden movable type and invented wheel typesetting. In the middle of Ming Dynasty, copper movable type was widely used in Nanjing, Wuxi, Suzhou and other places in Jiangsu.
