I mentioned a point in my previous article that reading is easier than choosing books. 20 17 How to choose the book of 1 is a problem. For a long time, I have been thinking about a question, why Japanese workshops, restaurants and enterprises can be passed down for hundreds of years, while China? There is an old saying that can best explain the problem, that is, "thirty years east of the river, thirty years west of the river", the world rises and falls, most of which have not been passed down, gradually lost and disappeared. I found the answer from the book "Craftsman's Spirit": it is not so much the skills passed down by those excellent century-old shops, but more accurately the craftsman's temperament that they first passed down-the mind of steadiness, persistence and Excellence! This book takes successful practice as an example to teach you how to temper your mind and cultivate your self-cultivation.
Craftsman's Spirit is the representative work of Japanese wood legend Akiyama Li Hui. The custom-made furniture of "Akiyama Woodworking" founded by it is common in Japanese imperial halls, hotels and national assembly halls. Mr. Akiyama's emphasis on the road of "virtue comes first, technology comes later" and "success is success" is in line with our traditional spirit. Mr. Akiyama has established a set of rules for training first-class talents-"30 admonitions for craftsmen", which has effectively tempered his mind and character and cultivated himself to develop a first-class spirit.
In Japan, such a craftsman spirit can be seen everywhere. What impressed me the most was Jiro Ono in The God of Sushi. Bright red tuna was put on vinegar rice, and Jiro Ono presented sushi to customers with a rigorous attitude. He observes customers very carefully and adjusts the size of sushi according to gender. He will carefully remember the seating of the guests, remember the left-handed habits of the guests, and adjust the preference of sushi placement. He only makes sushi from beginning to end, without adding drinks, so that customers can fully appreciate the beauty of sushi. In the process of production, he is particularly calm and serious, and there is a sense of solemnity in his gestures. Although the per capita consumption reached 400 dollars, all the diners interviewed expressed indescribable affection. This less than an hour and a half documentary records Jiro Ono's attitude towards his career from an unpretentious perspective. The characteristics of craftsmen are similar: serious attitude, dedication to improving skills, stubbornness, and finally full of enthusiasm. They are all perfectionists. Jiro Ono will find the best raw materials and deal with them in its own way. Don't care about money and cost, just do your best. Jiro Ono said: "Repeat one thing and do it better, but there is no end!"
"No one knows where the real peak is." Their success has transcended the technical level and been endowed with more spiritual significance. They have spent their whole lives or even more than a dozen generations doing only one thing, how can they not be proficient!
Mr. Li Hui Akiyama's method directly traces back to the origin of interpersonal relationship: tempering the mind and educating people with filial piety. This is exactly the same as China's filial piety and teacher's way of inheriting the spirit of 5,000 years. In order to train young apprentices into first-class craftsmen, "Qiushan Woodworking" has developed a unique talent training system for eight years to cultivate apprentices' correct attitude towards life, basic training, work planning, knowledge and technology. More than 50 of his disciples have become famous craftsmen in Japan. Compared with his carpentry works, his ways and methods of educating people are more favored by all walks of life!
"Qiushan Woodworking" has developed a unique "artisan training system". Anyone who wants to be a furniture craftsman must complete a one-year apprenticeship course at Akiyama School to cultivate students' minds and basic living habits as craftsmen. Only after a one-year probation period can you be hired as a formal apprentice, and then start a four-year basic training, work planning and craftsman guidance. After four years of tempering, only those who are mature in technology and mind can be recognized as craftsmen. Akiyama School is a trainee for one year, an apprentice for four years and a craftsman for three years. In the past eight years, the students have been honing their minds, steadily and steadily on the road of "double cultivation of virtue and art", mastering all the qualities that a qualified craftsman should have, thus starting their own business and carrying forward Akiyama's skills and spirit.
Anyone can master a skill with repeated practice, but the cultivation of mind is very difficult, and apprenticeship can make up for this shortcoming.
Everyone has the potential to become a first-class talent, but they also need the guidance and guidance of famous teachers. Li Hui Akiyama warned young people: If you want to be a first-class craftsman, you must put down your self-esteem and accept all the knowledge given by the masters, otherwise you will not be able to grow. At the same time, we need to improve our mentality and learn to be grateful. Without honesty and gratitude, people cannot grow. Only through the experience of collective life can we cultivate the feelings of being considerate, caring and grateful for others. Master-apprentice system and collective life have improved the mind of disciples, and with a kind of practice close to Zen, they will devote themselves wholeheartedly to it and will one day achieve positive results. As Li Hui Akiyama firmly believes: If you have a first-class mind, you must have first-class technology.
People who want to enter Akiyama School must receive ten days' training and pass the exam before they can enter the school. Why does Akiyama Li Hui have such a request?
1. If you cannot introduce yourself correctly and completely, you will not be accepted.
2. The apprentices admitted to Akiyama School are all bald, regardless of gender. Shaving one's head is to make the apprentice make up his mind and devote himself to the school. If they are not determined enough, they may not persist.
3. It is forbidden to use mobile phones, and only communication is allowed. Writing is also good training. If you can't even write a thank-you letter to a client, how can you be qualified for this job? While providing simplicity and convenience, mobile phones actually damage people's writing ability.
4. You can only see your family during the Kasahara Festival in August and the first month holiday. In this way, they can concentrate more on their studies and will not relax.
5. It is forbidden to accept the living expenses and pocket money remitted by parents. Only when you use your hard-earned money to buy a tool called "artisan life" will you cherish it.
6. During the training period, dating is absolutely forbidden. Loved people can probably understand the feeling of being in a trance and thinking, which makes people unable to concentrate on their studies.
7. Start running in the morning. Running 15 minutes every morning can exercise, cheer up and cultivate collective consciousness.
8, everyone cooks together, and it is forbidden to be picky eaters. People who are picky eaters tend to choose jobs and people, so it is also important to overcome the food they don't like.
9. Clean up before work. Cleaning streets, cars and garages before work can sharpen your mind.
10. At the meeting, they shouted "30 instructions for craftsmen" in unison. Let the disciples remember what a first-class craftsman looks like, and through repeated recitation, let the standards of first-class craftsmen penetrate into their subconscious, which will be unforgettable for life.
This series of rigorous training is to lay the foundation for growing into a first-class craftsman in the future. Especially the chorus "30 Instructions for Craftsmen", if a passage is read only once, it may soon be forgotten, but if it is recited repeatedly, it will enter the depths of consciousness and become our flesh and blood. Once we reach this state, when we encounter difficulties and emergencies, we can unconsciously refer to the "30 instructions of craftsmen" to deal with them, so as to calm ourselves down. So, what is the essence of "30 tricks of artisans"?
"Artisan 30" embodies etiquette, gratitude, respect, care and modesty ... These are the most important things in life, and they are also the foundation of education, which is consistent with China's "being a man in advance". I admire the seriousness of the Japanese.
First, before entering the workplace, you must learn to say hello.
The first impression depends on the greeting when you meet. A person who can greet people warmly will certainly be able to communicate with people enthusiastically. It doesn't matter if he doesn't do well at first. He will practice hard for a month until he can greet people with enthusiasm and confidence.
Two, before entering the contact place, we must first learn to contact, report and negotiate.
"Contact, report and consultation" is the basic behavior that a craftsman should have, which helps you to clarify your responsibilities, judge problems and find solutions.
Third, before entering the workplace, you must be a cheerful person.
The workplace can't be smooth sailing, and you may be reprimanded and criticized. If you can't control your emotions, it will inevitably affect your work efficiency. Therefore, keep a simple and cheerful attitude, don't let criticism and reprimand affect your mood, give up self-esteem and reserve, and don't be so sensitive, so that we can respond to each other with gratitude and smiling faces.
Fourth, before entering the workplace, you must be a person who will not make people around you anxious.
We have noticed that most people who make people around them anxious are self-centered and don't consider other people's feelings. Craftsmen make products for customers. Only by considering problems from the standpoint of customers and putting them into action can they improve their skills and character. It may be a little tiring to think of others, but as long as we are used to doing so, this heartfelt joy will also infect ourselves.
Before entering the workplace, you must be able to understand others correctly.
It is the duty of first-class craftsmen to provide customers with quality products that exceed expectations. To achieve this goal, we must form the habit of listening to others correctly. If a craftsman doesn't understand the requirements of customers and acts rashly, he will get twice the result with half the effort.
Six, before entering the workplace, we must first be amiable and easy to get along with.
If you had a choice, would you choose someone with a good attitude or someone with a bad attitude? If you are the boss, would you like to take amiable people or sullen people to various important occasions for social intercourse? The answer is self-evident! Face customers with sincerity. If the other party is satisfied, of course, they are willing to let you continue to serve. Similarly, if you treat your work partners well, your cohesion will be improved, and you can achieve great results in a short time. In this way, the work will naturally continue to improve.
Seven, before entering the workplace, you must become a responsible person.
Responsible behavior means that once there is a problem, you will try your best to take responsibility. If we have a sense of responsibility of 10 1%, then once we encounter difficulties, we will have the first-class ability to break through them. And hard work will inevitably produce a sense of tension, so that you can concentrate on your work and improve your skills. If you can do your job well out of a sense of social responsibility, you will be particularly happy no matter what you do.
Eight, before entering the workplace, you must be able to cope well.
First-class craftsmen must also respond in a first-class way. Whether you understand it or not, you should express it clearly to avoid making mistakes. People often speculate that people who always answer "yes" cheerfully must be positive and prepared. Moreover, a complete and appropriate answer is the first step to make a product accurately. You know, in Japan, the answer to "yes" is very decisive, and they rarely say: almost, this will do. You must be able to respond well. This kind of good response can make the other party more willing to communicate with you and express their needs. Seek truth from facts, don't pretend to understand.
Before entering the workplace, you must become a person who can think of others.
You can't be a good craftsman if you don't care about others. The so-called "first-class craftsman" means that no matter what occasion, he can put himself in the other's shoes. An understanding person should be popular, considerate of others everywhere and kind-hearted, and his works will certainly touch people's hearts.
Before entering the workplace, you must become a "nosy" person.
Here, "meddling" is not a derogatory term, it means doing good for the other party, even if it offends people, you should say what you have to say. Everyone has the ability, but some people can't exert their ability unless they are repeatedly "meddled" and reprimanded. Compared with the person in charge, it takes many times as much effort and courage to take care of other people's "things" If you don't stare at each other often, it is difficult to ensure that "meddling" is managed properly, so it takes time. If we can treat other people's "meddling" with gratitude, such people can grow up.
Before entering the workplace, you must be a persistent person.
The so-called "persistence" means "not giving up" in things and trying various methods repeatedly until it is done well. To achieve first-class work standards, we need to learn from our superiors or predecessors with perseverance. If people are not satisfied with the status quo and continue to pursue a higher realm, they can explore their infinite potential and achieve "first-class".
Twelve, before entering the workplace, you must become a person with a sense of time.
People who always care about time must also be ahead of time. A person's study time is limited, but if he studies at twice the speed, he can get two years' growth in one year. If you want to "learn from work", you must go all out and stick to everything, so that you can become a first-class talent. And people who cherish time will be ready to work at any time, so they can always be punctual and trustworthy, which is also a respect for customers and colleagues.
Thirteen, before entering the workplace, you must prepare tools.
If the tools are neatly equipped, they can be put into work immediately, which can improve work efficiency. In addition, tools are good partners who help us all our lives. Tidying up neatly is a way to express our gratitude to them and your sincerity. Neo-Confucianism in China Song and Ming Dynasties emphasized the word "sincerity", that is, are you sincere about a chisel or hammer? When you can treat these tools like a friend, you will achieve "value for money" and show your work attitude.
Before entering the workplace, you must be a good tidy-up person.
Cleaning is the last process of work, which directly affects the next work, so it is very important. Cleaning is not only for the convenience of finding this thing, but also represents an attitude, according to which customers can judge whether you are professional or not. If we do cleaning work with gratitude, we can also cultivate our serious and responsible attitude.
Fifteen, before entering the workplace, you must become a person who understands your position.
"Know your own position" means to have an accurate position for yourself at work and sing whatever role you play. The master's position is like a general on the battlefield, giving orders and coordinating the overall situation; The craftsman's duty is to carry out the instructions of his superiors quickly and correctly. There are many positions of people. Only by constantly thinking about your own position can you understand the wishes of the other party, and then understand what you should do and then put it into action.
Sixteen, before entering the workplace, you must become a person who can think positively.
On our way to the future, we will always encounter all kinds of difficulties. We should believe that those difficulties are challenges to improve our personal abilities. For those who think they are powerless, the training of suffering is to help them believe in their genes, because everyone is born with a gene with some ability.
Before entering the workplace, you must be a grateful person.
Gratitude is the foundation of a craftsman. If you want to thank others, you should say it out loud, or they won't know. Thank your parents, your children, your master and your predecessor .................................................................................................................................................................. Only when you know how to be grateful can your personality grow. Even if we encounter setbacks, gratitude can make us humble. No matter whether the final development is good or bad, the person who can be grateful for everything is the one who can learn a lot and keep growing.
Before entering the workplace, you must become a person who pays attention to appearance.
Paying attention to gfd is the most basic etiquette for people in society. As a craftsman, it is very important to tidy up yourself from beginning to end before going to the workplace, which not only represents respect for others, but also respects yourself in essence.
Nineteen, before entering the workplace, you must be a helpful person.
The so-called "helping others" refers to taking action in advance after seeing what the other party needs and providing the help that the other party needs. Taking action when others call you is the worst policy; What others do, you follow suit, which is the middle policy; It is the best policy for you to realize and take action before others call you. "Helping others" means making the work go smoothly. To do this, we must be ahead of our predecessors and customers, and we must be timely and fast.
Before entering the workplace, you must become a person who can skillfully use tools.
If the good use of tools can reach the realm within reach, then excellent works can naturally be expected. However, to make good use of tools, artisans need constant training, and to constantly break through your comfort zone, it is difficult to make progress by simply repeating labor.
Before entering the workplace, you must introduce yourself.
The so-called self-introduction is actually to re-recognize yourself. At the same time, show your strengths, tell your personal goals, outline your future prospects, let others know your values, and urge you to work hard towards your dreams, even if you encounter difficulties.
Twenty-two, before entering the workplace, you must become a person who can have "pride".
It is very important for a craftsman to learn to be proud. When delivering goods to customers, you must praise the furniture you have made. For example, the furniture is made of local wood, and we have put a lot of thought into the coordination of furniture and space. Try to use simple and easy-to-understand language to make customers feel your joy and pride, touch customers' hearts and touch customers. When you share such pride with everyone, your work will certainly win the respect of others.
Twenty-three, before entering the workplace, you must be able to express your opinions.
To be a "proud" person, you must be a person who can express your views well, that is, you must always share various ideas in order to create better works. At work, many people always adopt an indifferent attitude in order to avoid the turmoil and disputes in interpersonal relationships, so that they can neither learn anything nor grow. Only when people express their opinions on one thing will they say, "What would I do if I were you?" Even if you are laughed at, you won't care too much. Only by speaking frankly and sharing your ideas with others can you grow continuously.
Before entering the workplace, you must be a diligent letter writer.
Expressing gratitude can make the other person feel better and gain the other person's favor. Expressing gratitude through your own words can convey your thoughts more accurately and deeply. We just need to write with a serious attitude, instead of flowery rhetoric and red tape, and write what we want to say, so that such words can bring you real feelings and exert its charm, which will be more touching than the same greetings.
Twenty-five, before entering the workplace, must be willing to clean the toilet.
As long as you are alive, you must use the toilet every day. The world only knows that the mind is noble and the toilet stinks, but it doesn't know that nobility and purity can come from filth and stench. Washing the dirtiest place can also temper one's mind and have a beautiful mind, which is the code of conduct of Akiyama carpenters. For craftsmen, only a beautiful mind can make beautiful things. Only by promoting good and eliminating evil can we get closer and closer to the first class.
Twenty-six, before entering the workplace, you must be good at making phone calls.
Answering the phone happily is a basic requirement for everyone in society. It requires you to express yourself succinctly and easily without looking at each other. At the same time, keep your voice clear and pleasant. In the process of dialogue, we must avoid ambiguity, and the answers must be specific, easy to understand and polite.
Before entering the workplace, you must become a fast eater.
Craftsman is a general term. If you don't act collectively, you can't start working. You have to work and eat together. As long as one person eats slowly, it will affect everyone's work. Therefore, you must be a fast eater, which is also a respect for others. Therefore, controlling meal time is also an important training for cultivating first-class craftsmen.
Before entering the workplace, you must be a cautious person.
Li Hui Akiyama said: "What you learn through sweating when you are young will become a lifelong treasure." In other words, acquiring a skill is like having a lot of money. Understand this truth, and you will know how to spend money to promote your growth. If you want to be a first-class craftsman, you must go all out to receive training, even if you work hard, you must stick to it. You know, your current efforts can help you acquire skills that you can use for a lifetime, so this is also an investment in your future.
Before entering the workplace, you must be a good abacus player.
"Reading, writing and calculating" are the three basic skills of craftsmen. In order to deal with work quickly and orderly, we must have mental arithmetic ability. First-class craftsmen can quickly calculate the required materials, time, labor and so on. For customers' orders, we can also make products that satisfy customers. In addition, "knowing how to use abacus" means not giving up when something happens, having flexible fingers and strong concentration, and being able to keep the body and brain running at full speed. In other words, it has mastered the correct, patient and meticulous abilities necessary for a first-class craftsman, so it can become an excellent craftsman who makes correct judgments in an instant and has a strong understanding.
Before entering the workplace, you must be able to write a short work report.
The apprentices of "Qiushan Woodworking" often write a summary report on their work for one day in sketch books. There are successes and failures in the report. Senior students will write comments on the report after reading it. Through this kind of written communication, they can understand the reasons for their failure. When you write a work report and send it to your family members or teachers, please write what you want to say in the report and send it back. Apprentices are bound to be grateful when they realize that everyone around them supports them. With feelings, they will take a step towards first-class craftsmen.
"Craftsmanship" is applicable to practitioners in all industries. No matter which industry wants to be a first-class talent, it needs to give full play to its potential, lay a solid foundation in both spirit and body, accumulate knowledge and make continuous progress. Learn the spirit of artisans and forge ahead in your own work.
If you want to be a first-class craftsman, you must go through three stages of "constantly breaking free". The so-called "separation" is based on the relationship between mentoring and leading to the first-class road.
The first is "keeping". It is to learn from the master, imitate all the elements of being a craftsman, and absorb the knowledge taught by the master faithfully and wholeheartedly.
The second is "broken". It is to absorb all the knowledge taught by Master, form a solid foundation, and then add your own ideas to Master's form.
Finally, it is "separation". Refers to the stage of breaking away from the master and creating a new realm, just like in "Autumn Mountain Woodworking", the craftsman began to be independent from the ninth year and sought new breakthroughs.
How can we make young people who have been growing up under the protection of their families and follow their inclinations stick to the end in Autumn Mountain Woodworking? In addition to the guidance of teachers, parents' support also plays a vital role, so parents must have firm beliefs.
In the craftsman training of "Qiushan Woodworking", the apprentice must write a report in the sketch book, summarizing the work content of the day and the places that need to be reflected. When the sketch book is written, it will be sent to the apprentice's family or teacher. In order to cheer for their children, parents will try to write encouraging words themselves. When a person is so expected by people around him, he will naturally not give up easily; Once you give up, it means betraying the expectations of parents and teachers.
Therefore, only by involving family members and teachers can we cultivate a unique craftsman.
Personal point of view
As we all know, first-class products must come from first-class talents. If you want to be a first-class talent, you must have a first-class mind. However, how is the first-class mind honed? Not by practicing skills hard, nor by reading books, but by saying hello, cleaning toilets, skillfully using tools and other trivial things. Who would have thought that it is the practice of daily life and work details that determines first-class products, first-class talents and first-class minds! Finally, the so-called "folded wood" was born; Nine-story platform begins with tired soil. "It is for this reason, so there is no need to be afraid of" being tall ". If we can start from small things, ordinary things and ordinary things and adhere to the craftsman spirit, we can also achieve a wonderful life!
This book is not as readable as expected. Although it is called 30 articles, some of them are repetitive and some of them are not applicable, which is of little reference significance. The whole book needs no careful reading. After reading this article, we can basically grasp the central idea, that is, to cultivate a sense of ceremony, start from small things, focus on the present, be a man in advance, and be a man first. Peace of mind will succeed! If the perfect score is 10, I will give you 6 points at most!
