Cen Can (7 15-770) was a poet in the Tang Dynasty. Later, he moved to Jiangling (now jiangling county, Hubei Province) and his ancestral home was Jiyang, Henan Province (now northeast of Xinye County, Henan Province). Tianbao was born in a bureaucratic aristocratic family. He was a scholar in three years (744) and worked as a secretary under Anxi Gao Xianzhi in eight years (749). In the 13th year of Tianbao (754), Feng Changqing was appointed as our special envoy Anxi, and Cen Can was responsible for reviewing and serving as our judges Anxi and Beiting. When Su Zong was in Fengxiang, he was ordered to fill the vacancy, and later became a long history (now south of Lingbao County, Henan Province). At the age of fifty-five, he was promoted to Shangshu (now Leshan County, Sichuan Province) and died in Chengdu Guest House after being dismissed from office.
Cen Can, who has participated in two competitions, has a profound experience of military life and a careful observation of the exotic scenery of frontier fortress, so he has created many popular frontier fortress poems. His frontier poems express the lofty aspirations of making contributions, reflect the heroic and hard life of soldiers and depict the beautiful scenery of frontier fortress. Cen Can's poems inherited and developed the tradition of Han Yuefu, and he was good at writing seven-character poems. His poems are rich in imagination, colorful and passionate, with peculiar artistic charm and unique artistic style. There are 360 "Cenjiazhou Collection".
In the eighth year of Tianbao, that is, in 749 AD, Cen Can made his first mission to the Western Regions, Gao Xianzhi was sent to North Korea by Anxi Four Towns, and Cen Can was called to join the army, serving as the secretary of the right guard and becoming our time. This article was written on the way to the frontier. It is about the homesickness caused by meeting an envoy who returned to Chang 'an during the journey.
"Far East of Hometown" is about the actual feelings in front of us. The poet has left his hometown for many days and is on his way to the western regions. Looking back at Chang' an, the hometown of the East, it is of course a long way, and the feeling of missing can't help but attack my heart, and the feeling of homesickness is hard to recover. "Hometown" refers to my home in Chang 'an. "Looking east" means pointing out the location of Chang 'an.
"The tears of the two sleeves are dry" means that the tears of homesickness can't be wiped away, so that both sleeves are wet, but the tears just can't stop. This sentence expresses the feelings of missing relatives with exaggerated rhetoric, and also lays a high foundation for the following writing to bring a book home to "report peace".
"There is no pen and paper when we meet, and there is news from you when we report peace." These two sentences are about the situation that you met an emissary in Beijing and wanted to take a book home to report peace, but there was no pen and paper. They were completely anxious to see the traveler at once, and they behaved very vividly. When we meet, we can't write letters without pen and paper. Please send me a safe message to my home! Cen Can came here with the ambition of "fame and fortune". At this time, the mood is complicated. On the one hand, he has tenderness and homesickness for the imperial city, on the other hand, he also shows the poet's open and heroic mind.
The language of this poem is simple and natural, as if it came out casually, especially the scene where the last two sentences meet immediately. Full of rich frontier life breath, the lens is focused and clear, just like a close-up of a film and television. It is both interesting and human, fresh and lively, with endless aftertaste.
