1, inner packaging

The main function of fragile inner packaging is to provide fixation and buffering of contents. Qualified inner packaging can protect fragile goods from collision and vibration during transportation, and can restore their original shape to provide further cushioning. There are a variety of internal packaging materials and methods to choose from.

2. Flight

Lining is the most popular form of internal packaging at present. Corrugated cardboard is usually used to cross each other to form a network structure, which matches the size of the outer packaging carton. According to the shape of the loaded goods, cut the corrugated liner and then clip the goods in it. From the production, cutting and packaging of the liner, the whole process can be completed by mechanized operation, which is very suitable for large-scale product packaging.

Using corrugated liner as inner packaging can provide good commodity fixing performance, avoid the collision between fragile products and reduce the breakage rate. In addition, because the manufacturing material is corrugated paper, which is consistent with the corrugated box material, it is beneficial to unified recycling, meets the requirements of environmental protection and has low cost.

Due to the greater pressure, the items that come into contact with the bottom of the box are more likely to be damaged. Usually, a layer of corrugated cardboard is added to the bottom of the box to enhance the cushioning performance. At present, there are also plastic partitions on the market. Using high density polyethylene (HDPE) or polypropylene (PP) for extrusion or extrusion molding has many advantages, such as low cost, bending resistance, impact resistance, no pollution, aging resistance, corrosion resistance, moisture resistance and waterproof, and can solve the sandwich packaging problems that may be encountered in the process of batch handling of beer bottles and ceramics. Compared with corrugated board, plastic partition can better adapt to the trend of unloading mechanization and shelving in warehouse management, and its application will be more and more extensive.

3. Foamed plastics and their substitutes

As a traditional cushioning packaging material, foamed plastics have good cushioning and vibration absorption properties, light weight, good protective performance and wide adaptability, and are widely used in fragile packaging. In particular, foam plastics can be prefabricated into related buffer modules according to the product shape, which is very convenient to apply.

Polystyrene foam was once the most important cushioning packaging material. However, the traditional expanded polystyrene is gradually replaced by other environmentally-friendly cushioning materials because it uses Freon, which will destroy the atmospheric ozone layer, as a foaming agent, and the waste foamed plastics are huge and difficult to recycle.

At present, foamed PP, honeycomb paperboard and pulp molded products are the main substitutes for polystyrene foam. Foamed PP does not use freon, and it has many cushioning properties similar to foamed polystyrene. It belongs to soft foam material, which can be bonded to form a complex structure. It is a new type of cushioning material with good application prospects.

Honeycomb paperboard has the advantages of large bearing capacity, good cushioning, difficult deformation, high strength, environmental protection and low cost. It can be prefabricated into various shapes instead of foamed plastics, and is suitable for the packaging of fragile articles used in large quantities, especially for the packaging of fragile articles with large volume or heavy weight.

Pulp molded products are also packaging materials that can partially replace expanded polystyrene. It is mainly made of paper or other natural plant fibers through pulping, molding and drying. According to the appearance and weight of fragile products, specific geometric cavity structures can be designed to meet the different requirements of products. This product has good adsorption, can degrade waste and can be stacked for storage, greatly reducing the transportation and storage space. However, it has poor resilience and weak impact resistance, and is not suitable for packaging fragile items with large volume or heavy weight.

4. Air cushion film

Air cushion film is also called bubble film. Air is sealed between two plastic films in a special way, so that bubbles are formed continuously and evenly between the films. Bubbles have many shapes, such as circle, semicircle and bell. Bubble film can provide good protection for light goods. As a soft cushioning material, bubble film can be cut into various specifications and can package products of almost any shape or size. When using air cushion film, use multiple layers to ensure that the products (including corners and edges) are completely protected. The disadvantage of air cushion film is that it is easy to expand and contract due to the influence of ambient air temperature. Expansion will lead to the damage of the outer packaging box and the packaged goods, and contraction will lead to the movement of the items in the packaging, which will make the packaging unstable and eventually lead to the damage of the products. Moreover, it has poor puncture resistance and is not suitable for packaging fragile articles with acute angles.

5. On-site foaming

In-situ foaming, mainly using polyurethane foam plastic products, expands next to the contents to form a protective model, which is especially suitable for the packaging of small batches and irregular articles.

The general operation procedure is: firstly, the two-component foaming material is injected into the plastic bag at the bottom of the carton, then the packaged product is placed on the foaming material, and then a plastic bag is taken, and an appropriate amount of foaming material is injected to cover the fragile product, so that the foaming material will soon fill the whole carton and form a perfect protection for the fragile product.

The biggest feature of on-site foaming is that it can be formed on-site without any mold. It is especially suitable for the packaging of individual irregular products or valuable fragile products, and can be widely used in special occasions such as postal service and express delivery.

Step 6 pack

It has been widely used to fill soft materials of various packaging containers as buffer packaging. There are many kinds of materials, such as waste paper, plant fibers and foam plastic balls. However, due to the difficulty in filling containers with fillers, the poor fixing performance of the contents and the inconvenience in recycling the discarded packaging, this packaging form is gradually declining.
