At the place where the Fenhe River in Wanrong County of Yuncheng flows into the Yellow River, there is a Houtu Temple dedicated to Nu Wa Niangniang. According to historical records, our ancestor, Huangdi, came here specially to sweep the floor for the altar and worship the Houdi. We are descendants of the Chinese people, and Huangdi thought he was descendants of Houdi. Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty visited Wanrong Houtu Temple five times and Emperor Kangxi visited Houtu Temple twice. The earth used to lay the foundation for the Temple of Heaven in Beijing was transported thousands of miles from Wanrong Houtu Temple by the royal family.

as the saying goes, "thirty years in the east and thirty years in the west." This is the story of the Yellow River changing its course in Yuncheng. Due to the perennial sediment deposition, the ancient Yellow River Road changed its course once every 31 years in fenglingdu area at the junction of Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces. The Yellow River Pontoon Bridge, which was built in the Kaiyuan period of Tang Dynasty, was originally built with eight iron oxen as piers, with the Yellow River as the boundary, four in Weinan, Shaanxi Province and four in Yuncheng.
