What are the requirements for volunteering in Guangzhou?
-Male: Adult, healthy, no trauma, no diseases such as cold and fever at present, able to obey management;

—— Female: adults, medical emergency professionals, pharmacists and similar professionals (it is best to hold a certificate to shorten the registration time, but the temporary inability to hold a certificate will not affect the participation in rescue), and they can obey the management.

Volunteers other than the above two types of personnel, please stand by in your current position. Can be engaged in the procurement of urgently needed materials in disaster areas and support the front-line rescue in the rear. Unqualified volunteers rushing to the disaster area will bring danger to your life and seriously affect the rescue work in the disaster area. Please remember not to come if you do not meet the requirements!

In addition, volunteers must get the consent of their relatives and don't let them worry about you!

2. How do qualified volunteers from all over the country register, go to the disaster area and register?

All eligible volunteers should go to Chengdu by themselves, register with the Chengdu Red Cross Society after arriving in Chengdu, and be assigned to the disaster area.

At present, Chengdu Shuangliu Airport has been opened to civil aircraft, and most civil aircraft can take off and land (some flights are limited); Chengdu Railway Station is open normally (limited in some directions); Chengdu bus station is basically open normally.

Volunteers from all over the country can go to Chengdu by train or plane, or they can arrive in Chongqing before, and go to Chengdu through the Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway, which has been fully opened and given special protection.

Upon arrival in Chengdu, all eligible volunteers please go to Chengdu Red Cross Society at Daci Temple 17. If you buy a ticket with a discount of more than 50% in Sichuan Airlines, you can send the car to the city for free. You can ask the driver to go directly to the above address. )

Here, the staff of the Red Cross will register according to the situation of each volunteer, and each volunteer will register the following contents: name, mobile phone or PHS, professional skills, ID number and home contact number.

The completion of registration means that your registration work is over, and then the Red Cross staff will contact the motorcade and send you to various disaster areas for rescue.

3. What disaster areas will volunteers go to and do?

At present, volunteers have entered Wenchuan, Beichuan, Mianzhu, Maoxian, Shifang and Dujiangyan. We can't confirm where you can go until you complete your registration. But as long as qualified volunteers have the opportunity to enter the disaster area to carry out rescue. (This article was first published by www.ieeye.com)

Under the guidance of professionals, volunteers can enter the disaster area to carry out rescue activities such as exploring survivors, rescue, treatment and care, maintaining order, distributing materials and appeasing victims. Qualified volunteers will play an important role in the rescue activities.

Please note that not every volunteer can enter the disaster area. Maybe you can only stay in Chengdu and do some work. Enthusiasm should still be calm.

4. What items do volunteers bring to the disaster area?

-Personal belongings: spare small pieces to change clothes, especially your shoes, socks, gloves and masks (necessary, many pieces are needed for changing clothes). It is recommended to wear long clothes and trousers to avoid mosquito bites, sleeping bags and tents (as far as possible but not necessarily).

Food and water: You need to bring as much food and water as possible to ensure that it can be used in disaster relief and does not occupy the resources of the disaster area. The supply of tap water in Chengdu is basically normal, and the purchase of pure water is limited. Compressed biscuits are recommended for personal consumption and are available in supermarkets all over the country.

—— Essential drugs: commonly used drugs such as antibiotics (penicillin, amoxicillin and roxithromycin), Yunnan Baiyao, norfloxacin, gastrointestinal drugs, painkillers, band-AIDS, bandages, gauze, cotton, alcohol (prohibited on the plane), disinfectants and iodine; You don't have to prepare all the above basic drugs, just bring as many as possible.

-Sanitary facilities: towels, water cups, umbrellas or raincoats, solid and thick garbage bags (used to deal with your excrement discharge. Due to the poor sanitary conditions in the disaster area, human excrement may become a source of pollution.

5. Expenses and accommodation

All expenses need to be borne by earthquake volunteers, and we can't provide any subsidies at present.

The basic expenses include travel expenses, accommodation and meals. Travel expenses are determined by the mode of transportation from your location to Chengdu. You can check the ticket price on Ctrip, E Long, Friendship and other websites, or call your train station or bus station.

Due to the late arrival of some volunteers in Chengdu, they need to solve their own accommodation. There are a large number of business economy hotels or small hotels to choose from, and there are enough choices for standard rooms below 200 yuan every night.

The food prices in Chengdu are not high, and the prices of noodles, rice noodles and other fast food in most small restaurants are below 10 yuan.

In addition, you need to consider the cost of taxi and mobile phone (please recharge before departure).

6. All kinds of materials and modes of transportation urgently needed in the disaster area (please try to produce and purchase in areas where conditions permit)

-Medical supplies: including but not limited to various medical and surgical instruments, alcohol, iodine, mercuric chloride, purple liquid, medical cotton, gauze, hemostatic bandage, antibiotics, disinfectant, drugs for preventing and treating acute infectious diseases, and first aid kit.

Daily necessities: tents, sleeping bags, fast food, bottled or barreled drinking water, gloves, masks, towels, cups, quilts, sheets, and basic clothes for adults and children.

The above two kinds of materials are extremely scarce in the hardest hit areas, and it is urgent to hope that manufacturers and volunteers from all over the country can help purchase them.

At present, the logistics and transportation channels of the above materials are unstable. It is hoped that qualified manufacturers and volunteers will organize motorcades and transport them directly to Chengdu Red Cross Society by road.

At present, local governments stipulate that disaster relief materials convoys are free of tolls and set up emergency green channels. The motorcade doesn't necessarily need a big truck. The local drivers' association can use your car to form a motorcade to transport urgently needed materials in the disaster area.

We are not very grateful for the donation of various materials!

7. Rescue time

-The rescue time can be long or short. The Red Cross will never force volunteers to serve for a long time, and volunteers don't have to worry about service time.

-With the basic access in the disaster area being opened by the People's Liberation Army and the Armed Police Force, the rescue peak will be ushered in for some time to come.

-Disaster relief is not limited to rescuing survivors from the ruins, but also includes continuous follow-up treatment, nursing, recovery of health status in disaster areas, psychological counseling for victims, etc. Therefore, the rescue activities will last for a long time.

8. Responsibility

At present, Chengdu Red Cross Society does not provide legal guarantee for the personal safety of any volunteer. Every volunteer who participates in the registration means that he is responsible for his own safety. Therefore, we solemnly remind all enthusiastic volunteers: please put reason first at all times, and protect yourself to save people better.

Our Nanjing Volunteer Rescue Team does not undertake the responsibility of a large organization. We will promote the communication between the national volunteers and the Chengdu Red Cross Society, and together with our volunteers in Chengdu, provide convenience for the volunteers who come.

9. Organize and accompany volunteers from all over the country.

At present, volunteers all over the world want local people to go to Chengdu together, and we encourage this behavior. But I don't want to find a partner to waste time. At present, the disaster area needs rescue every minute.

It is suggested that volunteers from all over the country get in touch with your friends, classmates and colleagues first, and strive for their participation. Volunteers from all over the world can find local companions through QQ group.
