1. GDP ranking of cities in Sichuan Province
(1) Chengdu City, with 7.9 billion yuan, ranked 6th in the country, keeping the same ranking as last year.
(2) Mianyang City, with 5.6 billion yuan, ranked fourth in the province.
(3) Yibin 8.7 billion yuan, a nominal growth rate of 3%.
(4) Ganzi Prefecture with a nominal growth rate of 6%, ranking first in the province.
2. Characteristics of Economic Development in Sichuan Province
(1) Chengdu is the capital city of Sichuan Province and one of the most economically developed cities in Sichuan Province.
(2) In 2019, the GDP of Chengdu City is about 1.67 trillion yuan, with electronic information and equipment manufacturing as the main industries.
(3) The economic development of Sichuan Province is under some pressure and requires continuous innovation and improvement of industrial competitiveness.
Development of Various Industries in Sichuan Province:
(1) Comprehensive
The gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to 5674.98 billion yuan, an increase of 2.9% over the previous year at comparable prices. Among them, the added value of the primary industry was 596.43 billion yuan, an increase of 4.3%; the added value of the secondary industry was 211.571 billion yuan, an increase of 3.9%; and the added value of the tertiary industry was 296.284 billion yuan, an increase of 2.0%.
(2) Overall Stability of Agricultural Production
The total annual grain output was 35.105 million tons, which was stable at over 35 million tons for three consecutive years. Preliminary statistics show that annual vegetable production increased by 3.2% over the previous year, rapeseed production by 4.6%, tea production by 4.8%, Chinese herbal medicines by 12.6%, and fruit production by 6.9%.
(3) Industrial production fluctuates and picks up
In 2022, the province's value-added of industry above scale grew by 3.8% over the previous year. The product sales rate of industrial enterprises above scale was 96.4%. The value-added of high-tech industries above scale increased by 11.4% over the previous year. Industrial enterprises above designated size realized total profits of 421.41 billion yuan, an increase of 9.7% over the previous year.
(4) Continued recovery of the service industry
The value added of the tertiary industry increased by 2.0% over the previous year. Among them, the value added of wholesale and retail trade increased by 2.6%, transportation, storage and postal service decreased by 0.3%, accommodation and catering industry decreased by 4.6%, financial industry increased by 6.1%, real estate industry decreased by 5.4%, and information transmission, software and information technology service industry increased by 6.9%.
(5) Faster Growth in Fixed Asset Investment
In 2022, the province's total investment in fixed assets increased by 8.4% over the previous year. In terms of sub-industry, investment in the primary industry increased by 10.2% over the previous year; investment in the secondary industry increased by 10.1%, of which industrial investment increased by 10.7%; and investment in the tertiary industry increased by 7.7%.
