There are a lot of factories in Houjie, the bigger ones such as Samsung, VTech, Minghui, Aigao, Dingli, Yongsheng , Guangxing , Chengyou, all of which have more than 10,000 people in the peak season. The shoe factories here are the most numerous, and there are large and small shoe factories everywhere. There is a saying that "80% of the shoes exported from China come from Guangdong. And eighty percent of these shoes from Guangdong come from Houjie". Although there is a degree of exaggeration, but the scale of Houjie's shoe factories can be seen.

Guangdong Hotel Management Vocational and Technical College is a full-time general higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Guangdong Province, filed by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, and supervised by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education.
