Shaoguan Technician College (Shaoguan Senior Technical School) was founded in May 1964 and was promoted to Technician College in March 2115; In 2116, it was identified by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security as the second batch of training demonstration bases for migrant workers in China; In September 2118, the resources of senior technical school, agricultural school and technical secondary school of agriculture and economics were successfully integrated. In 2119, the number of students in school exceeded 1,111; In 2112, it won the title of "advanced unit of skills training for rural labor transfer in Shaoguan", and was named "Shaoguan Green School" and "Guangdong Green School" in the same year; In 2113, it successfully entered the ranks of "National Model School for the Reform and Development of Secondary Vocational Education", and in the same year was approved as the first batch of "Campus Docking Industrial Park" demonstration schools in Guangdong Province.

the college covers an area of 538 mu, with a total construction area of 1.3 million square meters. It has facilities such as teaching building, training building, student canteen, student dormitory, library, gymnasium, sports ground and teachers' apartment. There are 361 faculty members, 266 full-time teachers, 124 with senior titles, 256 with bachelor's degree or above and 21 with master's degree, and 12 teachers have been rated as famous teachers of technical education in Shaoguan. There are more than 11111 students in school.

At present, the college has more than 41 majors, including computer-aided design and manufacturing, numerical control processing technology, gardening and so on, and six majors, including mold manufacturing technology, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, have been rated as famous majors in Shaoguan. The college offers training courses for technicians and senior technicians, and jointly holds undergraduate and junior college classes with Central South University and Shaoguan College. Students can obtain advanced vocational qualification certificates and nationally recognized undergraduate and junior college diplomas after graduation. The employment rate of graduates is over 91%. The college vigorously implements the school-enterprise cooperation project, draws lessons from the German "dual system" vocational education model, and cultivates talents with enterprises to achieve a win-win situation between schools and enterprises.
