The new coronavirus has been causing recurring outbreaks around the world since the end of 2020, when the winter season began. After new confirmed cases were found in Chengdu, Sichuan province, and Dalian, Liaoning province, several new cases were reported in Beijing. The outbreak in Beijing is characterized by a relatively decentralized outbreak of new cases in several areas, triggering close attention from local people.
Beginning on Dec. 14, 2020, Beijing continued to experience an outbreak of new confirmed cases. As of December 26, in less than ten days, there were 13 additional confirmed cases in Beijing a***, involving the areas of Chaoyang District, Xicheng District and Shunyi District. And among these confirmed cases, four patients are cases related to the cold chain, they are either engaged in related work, or purchased related products, so the outbreak and the cold chain of food has a lot to do with.
Three confirmed cases in the Shunyi district have been linked to the cold chain. One of the three confirmed cases was an employee of a store in Shunyi that sells fresh and frozen food; two other confirmed cases were not employees of the cold chain unit in question, but they had all used a takeaway service to buy from the same restaurant that sells fish and meat food, and one of the confirmed cases in Xicheng District was an employee of the restaurant that sells fish and meat food. It is clear that all four cases were related to food transported in the cold chain.
Beijing's outbreak at the end of 2020 was very decentralized, characterized by multi-location outbreaks, and many of the confirmed cases were related to fresh cold-chained food, which made people start to take precautions against cold-chained transportation of food. According to expert analysis, this outbreak is likely to be caused by foreign input of cold chain food, so people need to pay special attention to dietary safety, try to buy as little as possible frozen food, daily consumption of meat to fresh meat-based.
