Houjie town has a long history. During the Xuanhe period of the Northern Song Dynasty (119-1125), Wang Tai, a native of Putian, Fujian, settled in Houjie, and began to build a village.

From the first year of the Republic of China to the twenty-eighth year of the Republic of China (19 12- 1939), villages in houjie town were under the jurisdiction of the eighth district of Dongguan County. In 29-34 (1940- 1945), it was renamed the fifth district of dongguan county. From 35 years (1946) to 38 years (1949), it was renamed the eighth district.

In the early days of the founding of New China, the villages in houjie town belonged to six districts in Dongguan County. Since then, due to the continuous development of the situation, ownership has also changed constantly to meet the needs of the situation. 3. Hotan Community is located in the southeast of houjie town Central District, with provincial highway S256 in front and Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway behind.
