Dashanpu dinosaur fossil site
Dashanpu dinosaur fossil site is located near Dashanpu Town, about 11 kilometers northeast of Zigong City, Sichuan Province. It is a site rich in Middle Jurassic dinosaurs and other vertebrate fossils 161 million years ago. It is the most important burial place of dinosaur fossils in China and one of the most important burial places of paleontology fossils in the world. The site was first discovered in 1972, first excavated in 1977, and a relatively complete sauropod dinosaur skeleton was obtained.
